In this market, it's easy to feel like you're on top and other days on the bottom...What about our clients? We witness on a daily basis the whole gamut of emotions from them. Everything from abject despair from someone ready to lose their home to unbridled glee in first time home buyers and investors.
We lend compassion to some and enthusiastic support to others in these times.  We're at our best for them if we endeavor to detach ourselves from the emotions to some extent much as a photographer would do in order to help them make good decisions.

Ventura, CA Household Hazardous Waste This Saturday - 03/18/09 12:48 PM
This Saturday, March 21st, is the Household Hazardous Waste Collection for City of Ventura.
It's a no-brainer, but you do need an appointment. Call Environmental Services weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (805) 652-4525.
I've done it before- they're very organized and expedient with the process and it's a good excuse to clean some of that stuff out of your garage, etc.!

Do You ever have days where you just want to do something else besides breathe real estate and the economy? I came across this great web site one day in my cyber meanderings...
It's called "The Great Sunflower Project"  ( http://www.greatsunflower.org )
In essence, you sign up to participate in a project that sends you sunflower seeds to plant and you agree to observe and record the bee activity and send it to them. The data assists in research for bee colony collapse which has heavily affected crop production.

The 21st annual Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade is being held downtown this Saturday, March 14th.
The parade committee chose the theme of "21 and Still Green" for this year's event, and includes floats, bands, car clubs, horses and clowns  from throughout Ventura County. You'll also get to see the world's Largest Green Pig!
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at San Buenaventura Mission and travels eastward on Main Street. The judges stand is located at Chestnut Street, where they'll vote for the winners.
The deadline for entries is March 6 for anyone who wwants to be a part of the parade. For more info, you can call 644-7794 or 643-4275.

Another Way To Stay In Touch - 03/09/09 01:48 PM
Thought this might be a good one to pass on to my AR buddies. A long time friend of mine sends out a once a month email to her girlfriends to remind them to do a monthly breast self  exam. I'll freely admit to using her idea (with her permission) and have been sending out a reminder to my friends and clients  on a once a month schedule for some time now. I get great feedback from it and it's another non-invasive way to keep my name in front of my clients as well performing a public service.

I'm very fortunate. Five days a week I get up at 5:30 AM (That's the only misfortune) and my husband and I get the dog and meet our daughter at the Ventura Community Park for a brisk walk. This in itself is a great way to start the day.
There's one particular man we see every morning who brightens our day even more. We can see him coming a quarter mile away. I don't know exactly where he's from but he honestly has a smile as wide as the city of Ventura and exclaims in very heavily accented English "Good … (1 comments)
