How come my earnest money check wasn't returned? Dear Lyn:I was wondering why the other buyers agent I was working with on a property has not given back my earnest money deposit.  I did not win in a multiple bid situation on a foreclosure.  That was 2 to 3 months ago and I still haven't heard from him.  Will I loose my earnest money?Dear Concerned Buyer:Absolutely not!  The other agent should have returned your certified check for the earnest money as soon as the other offer was accepted.  I understand from our conversation on this that the seller (REO) wanted all earnest … (12 comments)

There is a large amount of inventory thruout the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago which include Schaumburg IL homes.  Sellers are competing to make their home standout and enhance their marketability.  Prices have held between 4 to 5% from the listing price over the recent months.
Here is a chart of the ACTIVE Single Family Schaumburg Homes by price range with the market times posted as 'average days on the market.'
There currently are 218 single family homes available for sale with an average market time of 188 days.  The average list price is $395,207 and the highest listing price is $2,495,000 … (0 comments)

Foreclosure Basics - Fannie Mae Specials on the Home Steps Program  
Well I guess they want to join the spring market with new incentives for buyers (dangle that carrot?) with closing costs help and new appliances!  Most foreclosures obviously have 'iffy or icky' appliances so this would at least give buyers some incentives/breaks on those new appliances.  This was just released and is valid until May 1, 2010.  You must close by that date.  The press release shown is not very clear but I rechecked and the date starts for contracts on January 27th, 2010.My other post on Fannie Mae … (2 comments)
