Rescuing a lost soul should not be based on having a fence! Have been checking in and out of our local rescue shelters deciding if another dog is an option to add to my household (the Blog Dog says she needs a buddy!).  Even the possibility of an interim foster mom for an abused or neglected dog would be great.  Imagine getting this note from a local rescue center about an English Setter in my area:
"We also require fenced in yards for all of our dogs and puppies (traditional or invisible) and non-smoking homes. BOTH OF THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT … (16 comments)

Run or Walk for Animal Rescue a Success! Almost Home Foundation sponsored a walk for local animal rescue.  I brought my dog, Bella, which was adopted from Almost Home nearly 3 years ago to enjoy the day.  This event was in a really nice corporate area near the Wyndham & Westin Hotels in Itasca which I didn't know existed.  The Almost Home team did a great job with setup, etc.  The new mascots were in attendence and 'Bella the Blunder Dog' did not like the cat mascot (named Hope) one bit!  Rrrrrrrufff.  Looking for a cat or dog?  Adopt don't shop! … (4 comments)

Great - just when you thought this stuff was over, Mars Petcare, makers of Pedigree and Members Mark (Sams Club) Pet Foods are voluntarily recalling pet foods contaminated with salmonella from the Everson, PA dry pet food plant.
Please go to the link and be sure your pets (BOTH CATS AND DOGS) are not eating any of this food!

HEY LISTEN UP!   
Just wanted to tell you about a great place to choose a cat or dog as your next companion!  I have recently adopted a puppy from Almost Home Foundation and the best form of compliment that I could pay to them is to give them more advertising!  HELP ADOPT A CAT OR DOG TODAY!  Almost Home Foundation rescues from other places and is a no kill facility.  In my instance, shots and neutering were included in the adoption fee!  So don't use the excuse of too many vet bills to think about!
