Foreclosures are sad. I feel the house 'knows' that something bad has happened to it. Don't know how I know, I just do. It's a gut feeling, an instinct. I make my friends and family laugh when I point and say, something is 'up' with that house. One of my past listings recently became a foreclosure and popped back up on the market. A nice home that stopped being cared for. The buyers could tell and just didn't want to offer a decent price with all the other values in the neighborhood. What percentage of Schaumburg Homes are foreclosures? When we look at foreclosure numbers that perhaps we have heard or seen on the news, often times they are for trends that are national in scope. We always have to sharpen our focus and whittle down those statistics to the state level, then by metro area, then finally by the town itself. Don't pay attention to the media which is great for over dramatizing news especially when it comes to the housing market and foreclosures. Foreclosure Freak Show? There has been a much publicized Schaumburg foreclosure in our area from a gentlemen who has lived in his home for many years and is definitely down & out. He's been on every local TV station, front page of the local papers and become quite the 'foreclosure celebrity'. Obviously being in real estate, I know what is happening to him between foreclosure proceedings and the village trying to get him to clean up his property. I live in a very aggressive village where 'no nonsense' is legally dished out all the time. No compliance, see ya' in court. … (9 comments)

Which one of these scenarios would be good for you? Obviously if you are not the handy type and don't know which end of a hammer is the business end maybe a fixer upper is not for you!
