zillow: Alleluia! Automated Value's are finally being questioned! - 07/06/11 01:17 PM
This is a great day for the consumer as the courts are finally looking into the extensive use of AVM's (automated valuation models) like Zillow from Chase who took away home equity lines of credit from consumers! Chase based these denials and rescinds based on the 'imperfect' computer generated value model of Zillow! Can you hear me grinning?

We all know and think fondly when we see this house don't we? Yes, it's the 'Home Alone' House and it's currently for sale in the Chicago Suburb of Winnetka.$2,175,000 for the 1920's stately brick colonial offering 5BR's 3.5BA's and a total of 4,243 square feet. The house is so wonderful to us we can call it our own - I can picture myself sliding down the banister to the front door. Gosh, if we only had that down payment!Suddenly all nostalgia is ripped from me! I am stunned because I see a real 'mood spoiler' pop up on a Google search

This is as good a reason as any for me to write off Yahoo Real Estate! This is the latest advertisement that I received as a Yahoo User and I can certainly say I'm not happy in the least with this partnership. I don't know why everyone feels they have to 'get in bed' with Zillow? Something about the zzzzz's? Well, for me I will just not include my listings as a personal choice. Oh No ..... not Zillow! One of my past clients recently was called into his investment brokers office to go over his account and obviously make any future battle plans that were necessary. This has been a trying time for anyone with any kind of investments and offering a shoulder to cry on was the actual topic of the meeting. After going thru all the various accounts, the planner came to the 'real estate portion' of the program and gave my client the value of his home. $209,000 ..... REALLY? zillow: Gad ZZZooks a phone call from Zillow! - 06/16/08 02:59 PM
This is a follow up post from a phone call and then another phone call from Zillow to me on a previous post I did just a few weeks ago. 'The Ruckus' Zillow provided a data table on my Schaumburg IL area stating the Year over Year market change (-5.8%) which I was in total disagreement with. I provided closed figures that proved them wrong in my area with the current MLS stats. The info that Zillow is using is such an unbelievably broad territory it's going beyond ridiculous. There wasn't any way that I could find (Google Earth) what would show you how large the area is except to

Minding my own real estate business when out of the blue came an email from Zillow telling me my Schaumburg Market Area here in Northwest Chicago had decreased 5.3% and had I been aware of it? WHAT? CUMON! I knew the market was in a slight downturn but 5% a quarter in the Midwest? Seemed suspicious but I left it aside and thought nothing further about it. But it stewed and stewed in my head! How did they come to find those numbers? How could I verify those numbers that were being spread thru the internet like a bad case of athlete's
