I travel in Summerland by car, bicycle and foot and have noticed that our roads are getting worse and worse.  I love living in Summerland for all of its spectacular views and vista but have to ‘look down' more than I like (taking my eye off the views) to miss the next pothole or broken pavement.

We like this park because it is adjacent to the beach, parking is easy and convenient, and there's a huge grassy area, swimming area and washrooms right there as well. To get there follow Okanagan Highway 97 to Summerland. Turn east onto Peach Orchard Road and follow all the way down to Lakeshore Drive, then drive south. You won't miss it.

There's been a startling drop in real estate sales in the North Okanagan. New statistics show a 26 percent decline in April sales, compared to March, and a whopping 54 percent drop compared to the same time last year. In money terms, April sales totalled 30-million dollars, less than half what was sold in April 2010. The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board blames tighter credit conditions. New listings are also down.
