The Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) reports that February 2012 was the eighth month in a row in which sales rose. Prices are down, but sales volume is on track to continue rising this year.
At the end of February, things in Ashland County were still running behind State average sales volume, with ten closed sales in the County during February.

Rumor Has it That Other Madeline Island and Bayfield Real Estate Companies are Switching to Regional MLS of Minnesota
So far, it's still a rumor. But in the past month, I've heard from two area brokers that they're looking for a way to promote their listings on NorthstarMLS/RMLS of Minnesota.
At present, some Madeline Island firms (and most if not all Bayfield, Wisconsin firms) belong to SAAR (Superior Area Association of Realtors), which has its own IDX portal.

Following a long period of falling prices, it appears that home values on Madeline Island may be stabilizing. Trulia statistics indicate that the fairly steep fall in prices since January 1, 2012 has begun to level out.
At the same time, listing inventory has begun to rebound since February 22, as sellers are beginning to return to the market in anticipation of the spring and summer tourist influx to the Island.
