For a fourth straight month, Wisconsin’s monthly home sales volume exceeded last year's sales, yet median sold prices continued to fall, according to statistics published by the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA). The number of existing home sales increased 13.5 per cent in October compared to October 2010, however median sale prices fell 7.8 per cent over the same period, to $129,000.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) Equal Opportunity in Housing Committee has a new name. The committee is now known as the WRA "Cultural Diversity in Housing Committee".
Along with the new name comes a new Chair. This year, I'm assuming the Chair position from Robert Haglund, who ably served as Chair during the 2010-11 meeting season.

MADELINE ISLAND DECEMBER 2010 REAL ESTATE MARKET REPORT - ASHLAND COUNTY, WISCONSIN
As reported by the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA), November sales of single-family homes in Ashland County, Wisconsin declined by fifty per cent compared to November 2009 statistics. There were twelve reported home sales in November of 2009 and only six reported sales in November of 2010. Madeline Island Realty (in LaPointe, Wisconsin) made one-sixth (nearly 17%) of the total November 2010 home sales in Ashland County.
Average sold prices for Ashland County homes also declined in November of this year when compared to 2009 statistics. November 2010 average sold prices were down 21.1% from a year ago. The … (1 comments)

On Tuesday, November 30th, the Wisconsin CRS Chapter sponsored and presented the "At Home With Diversity" course at the Wisconsin Realtors Association in Madison.
The NAR (National Association of Realtors) course was taught by instructor Eric Kodner at WRA (that's me). We had a great class, with fifteen attendees, and class participation was excellent! Considering road conditions and the fact that we had no choice but to reschedule this class between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I thought attendance was pretty good.

One of the best things about teaching is the networking value of meeting other agents and brokers. You meet some great business contacts at area and state conventions.
Yesterday, I taught two mini-courses in "Blog Marketing" and "Using a Blog to Generate Leads" at the WRA Annual Convention at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells. Attendance at both classes wasn't huge, but there is so much going on at the same time during our State convention that you wind up competing with many different presentations in the same time slot.

Yesterday evening, I was at the Wisconsin CRS Chapter Networking Reception at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin, where the Wisconsin Realtors Association Annual Convention is underway. We had a Chapter leadership meeting and after that ended, our Board asked me to set up at a table in the suite and to help visitors sign up for Twitter accounts.

wisconsin realtors association: Closing the Sexual Orientation Loophole - NAR Board Approves Proposal to Amend Article Ten of the Code of Ethics - 05/23/10 11:19 PM
History was made at last week's National Association of Realtors Midyear Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C., as the NAR Board of Directors voted overwhelmingly to approve a proposal to add LGBT consumers to the list of protected classes under the Realtor Code of Ethics.
The Board vote on Saturday May 15 followed a unanimous Thursday vote by the NAR Professional Standards Committee on the Article Ten issue. The proposal was previously approved last November in New Orleans at the NAR Annual Conference by the NAR Equal Opportunity - Cultural Diversity Committee.

Today, I received official word from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) that I am now certified to teach the "At Home With Diversity" course.
To the best of my knowledge, I'm the first Wisconsin real estate licensee to become a NAR-certified instructor for the AHWD program. A few months ago, I was urged to obtain the AHWD trainer certificate by another instructor and also received encouragement from friends and colleagues on our Wisconsin Realtors Association Equal Opportunity in Housing Committee.
