HAR.com celebrates its 10th year and wins two awards!! - 07/30/07 03:07 PM
The Houston Association of Realtor's website HAR.com is not only celebrating its 10th anniversary but has also won two outstanding website awards by NAR.  There were actually five categories of awards; Outstanding Design, Outstanding Education Feature, Outstanding Online Property Search, Outstanding Online Newsletter and Outstanding Member Service Feature.  The two 2007 Awards that HAR won for were Outstanding Education Feature with their real estate course finder and most importantly Outstanding Online Property Search with their home finder.  To me winning for the Online Property Search is a bull's eye for HAR.

No deed restrictions and no HOA in Spring TX!! - 07/02/07 01:37 PM
Mossy Oaks in Spring TX I often get request asking to be set up for home searches for subdivisions that do not have homeowner's associations.  Since we don't have zoning in the Houston area when there are also no deed restrictions you get a little bit of everything.  I decided to take some pictures in a subdivision here in Spring that is unrestricted.  These pictures were taken in Mossy Oaks and are in the order that I saw the homes.

Fire ants in Texas!!Having moved to Texas from the North I have come to realize that we have some unusual pest in Texas and one of these are fire ants.  We moved here a little over 10 years ago and it did not take long for me to be introduced to the critters.  I was holding an open house and saw some soft dirt to put my open house sign in.  As I was putting the sign in the yard all of a sudden I noticed stings through my panty hose.  I was out in the street doing a little dance trying … (14 comments)
