I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year from Spring TX. Having moved here from the north I still find it weird when I see the fireworks stands opening before Christmas. I'm thinking the fireworks stands must be doing a GREAT business this evening as our dog is cowering at my feet as we hear fireworks in all directions. 2009 has been a wonderful year; of course capped by our son getting out of the Army in June and becoming a college student here locally. What a blessing it has been having him here this holiday season. My heart goes out to those whose loved ones (34 comments)
Our daughter is the photographer you see in the ornament. This was at my sister's house in Colorado two years ago. At the time we had thought our son was going to be deployed to Iraq so decided to go to Colorado. As it turned out he was not deployed until February so he ended up in Colorado that Christmas with us. My parents opted not to come in that year as they didn't want to battle the cold. This year our son is now out of the Army and everyone is coming here for Christmas. Our daughter flew in from New York City yesterday morning. (45 comments)
I decided to use a picture of Dundy in front of the fireplace for our Christmas cards. Our son thought it would be cute if he had reindeer antlers. I searched high and low to find the perfect antlers. As you can see from the picture our reindeer was not happy with his antlers. He wins the Christmas card picture is going out without the antlers. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are buying or relocating to Spring Texas and need help from a professional REALTOR®, Marchel can be reached at Marchel@AgentwithResults.com or by phone at 832-721-8332. New GI Bill is NOT WORKING!!!!! - 12/14/09 03:28 PM
Our son recently got out of the Army. He was an Intelligence Analyst and served 4 years and 10 months with two tours of Iraq. He actually signed up for 4 years but got the stop lost and ended up doing an extra tour of Iraq and served an extra 10 months. We were very proud of his attitude about the extra time in the Army. He got out officially in June and immediately started college. We sprang for his summer classes and decided he would start on the new GI Bill in the fall semester. With the new GI Bill (32 comments)
As many of you know our daughter is a flight attendant for a charter company. She was recently on a troop flight to Alaska and had a 30 hour layover. With co-workers she took an excursion in their 5 hours of sunlight. This series of pictures were taken in Whittier Alaska. I'm not sure what a flaming pumpkin is but the pictures of them are very interesting. If you would like to see more pictures of Whittier and the Kenai peninsula visit her Flickr site. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are buying or relocating to Spring Texas and need help from a professional REALTOR®, Marchel can (32 comments)
Enjoying the little joys!! - 12/09/09 02:53 PM
WOO HOO I just met my husband and our son for lunch. You are probably thinking; so. You have to understand at this time last year our son was finishing his second tour of Iraq. He is now out of the Army and a college student. He only has one final left and today off. We were all able to meet for lunch; coming from three different directions. This has been a hectic time for me. Not so much because of the holiday but because of a difficult transaction that has robbed my joy. I think sometimes it is just nice (27 comments)
How to send flat rate packages to our troops!! - 12/04/09 07:47 AM
It is hard for out troops being away from friends and family during the holiday season. This makes it an ideal time to send them a flat rate package. Last year at this time our son was in the middle of his second tour of Iraq and he loved getting goodies from home. With him doing two tours I learned the ins and outs of sending him flat rate packages. On our son's first tour he was based at a town called Hit just northwest of Ramadi; the base was so small they really didn't even have a PX to speak of. For 6 months (52 comments)
This is Elle; our grand-kitty who lives with us. Our daughter is a flight attendant flying Internationally (based out of JFK) and is here maybe one week out of a month. We thought Elle would be mad at her when she comes home but she always welcomes her with open paws. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are buying or relocating to Spring Texas and need help from a professional REALTOR®, Marchel can be reached at Marchel@AgentwithResults.com or by phone at 832-721-8332.
