This is Dundy; we rescued him over 2 years ago and what a joy he has been. His cute Golden face got him in the Golden Rescue but he is only about 50 pounds so is for sure a mix. Other than Golden we are not sure what he is although I think he has some Border Collie. I hear we could pay $60 and do a test to find out but it is kind of fun to guess. our pets: Bird Bathing in Spring TX!! - 04/10/11 08:50 PM
It has been incredibly dry in Spring TX this spring so we have been making a concerted effort to keep our bird bath full as the birds are quite thirsty. The other morning I noticed a beautiful blue bird land on the bird bath and ran for my camera. It was the right place at the right time as before I knew it my beautiful blue bird had been joined by 4 friends.

I know we have all watched in horror at the Tsunami that has affected Japan. I had heard the other day about a dog being rescued off a pile of debris. Our son just sent me the story of the dog being reunited with his owner. He said it would bring tears to my eyes and he was not kidding. As Paul Harvey would say here's the rest of the story:

As you can see Calvin is all boy! He was not sure why I was chasing him with the camera; that is why he is under the table in the second picture. As you can tell he was not very happy with me! He is a clean boy though as within 10 to 15 minutes those paws will be white again. Which is why I had to get the picture quick.

My Kodak moment took place March 9th 2009 in Fort Hood TX. This picture took place at our son's Welcome Home ceremony from his second tour of Iraq in Fort Hood TX. (I can still look at the picture and get all weepy.)
Tarren surprised us straight out of high school and decided to join the Army as an Intelligence Analyst. We were surprised as we are not a military family. Yesterday I posted Dundy's Christmas picture that we used for last year's Christmas card. This is the picture that didn't make it to the card. I thought the reindeer ears were a great idea but as you can tell Dundy did not! As soon as I took the ears off her perked right up and I got yesterday's snapshot. This is our grand-kitty Elle who lives with us as her flight attendant owner travels the world. You can see that she is a bit overweight. She just went on her second diet and this time we are off to a great start. The first diet was a wet food diet and it was a catastrophe as she thought she needed wet food all day long and made everyone miserable. Everyone that is except our daughter who was not here. This time she is on a new kind of dry food and so far so good!

Our Calvin has a new friend as you can see by the pictures. One was taken today and the other one was taken yesterday. He is glad that I lugged his new friend home all the way from Mesa Arizona. The thing is I lugged that new friend several years ago but he has just now formed an attachment.

This is my grand-kitty who lives with us as our flight attendant daughter travels the world. It is amazing at how devoted she stays to our daughter. As soon as our daughter gets in town I'm second fiddle (lol). Our daughter arrives for a week tomorrow so I won't see much of Elle this next week. She loves to cuddle so I know she will return to my lap as soon as our daughter flies off to her next destination.

Our area of Spring TX has had a problem in the last few years of lost cats. I myself knew of 8 that had disappeared in just a few months. We don't know for sure why they disappeared but we think it could have been coyotes. Our subdivision has always been out by itself but the city is moving closer and closer. The Woodlands is building a village literally a stone's throw from our house. As progress happens there's less room for the coyotes to feed. I decided to use a picture of Dundy in front of the fireplace for our Christmas cards. Our son thought it would be cute if he had reindeer antlers. I searched high and low to find the perfect antlers. As you can see from the picture our reindeer was not happy with his antlers. He wins the Christmas card picture is going out without the antlers.

This is Wordless Wednesday with words as this picture needs to be explained. This is our daughter's cat Elle. Our daughter is a flight attendant for a Charter company flying Internationally so Elle lives with us as our daughter is flying around the world. Our daughter commutes and so she gets to see Elle quite a bit.
Our other cat Calvin has always had a favorite chair but as I was retiring this bag Elle decided to make it her favorite suitcase. I just think it is appropriate that our daughter's cat would pick a suitcase as her bed (lol). I make … (32 comments)

On Friday I posted a very photogenic photo of Dundy. I could not resist on Speechless Sunday posting this photo of Dundy after his bicycle run. My husband and son take turns taking Dundy for a bicycle run. We are fairly sure he is half Golden and half Border Collie and the Border Collie part has a LOT of energy. They ride the bike and Dundy runs along on his leash. When they get over to the trail they let Dundy run and as you can see he finds every puddle he can. As most of you know Dundy is our new rescue dog from New Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue. We are TOTALLY enjoying him. Over our almost 33 years of marriage we have had two rescue dogs and two pure bred dogs and those rescues just KNOW that they have been rescued. He was here to greet our son when he got out of Iraq and now that he is out of the Army they have way bonded. He also LOVES our sons girlfriend.
