The BallenIsles Beach Bikers are at it again! Once again they've brought the need to battle Multiple Sclerosis to the forefront by participating in The 2010 Zimmerman MS Bike Ride. Here's an excerpt from their website: "We've formed a team for the 2010 Zimmerman MS Bike Ride Presented by Mack Cycle and Fitness because we know that riding 150 miles is nowhere near as difficult as confronting a lifetime with multiple sclerosis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society gives us all reason to hope, though. In addition to supporting novel research projects around the globe, they also provide much needed education, programs, and services

charity: Shaving Your Head for Charity - Let's Get This Thing GOING! - 08/14/07 04:49 PM
A few hours ago I was visited by the World-Famous (well, at least pretty well-known around here!) Nick the Appraiser. We were just talking about business in general and than he mentioned a recent post of his - I'm glad he brought it up because I hadn't seen it for some reason. The post: Shave Your Head for Charity - is one you need to check out right away. Check out his post for the specifics - in a nutshell he is going to shave his head and video the experience to raise money for Hugs for Kids which uses the money for very needy children

charity: Beach Bikers of BallenIsles - Long Overdue Recognition! - 08/14/07 04:48 PM
BallenIsles has a club - the 'Beach Bikers' - that is overdue for some praise! In April this group of 8 cyclists participated in the MS Ride from Miami to Key Largo and Back - a round trip of 150 miles. Everyone rode at least 100 miles and five of the eight completed the entire course - even with some horrible headwinds on the second day. As an ex-cyclist myself (mainly time-trials) I can vouch for the fact that this is no easy feat.... The return trip was finished off with a lap around the Homestead Race Track. The BallenIsles Beach

charity: Another Way to Help Out Students - BlogCatalog Bloggers for Good Fundraising Challenge - 05/28/07 06:00 PM
Something I'd like to think that we all agree upon is the need to help out our Public Schools and the Students that attend them. BlogCatalog choose today, May 28th, to promote the non-profit organization: DonorsChoose.org. The site allows Teachers to submit proposals for Projects and then the donors can pick the specific Project that they would like to help fund.
