98 Days and Counting - 09/27/11 05:44 AM
Ok now there are only like 95 days left but I read this a couple days late. I think/know these are very inspirational pointers and standards to live by and wanted to pass it on in case you missed it. Via Patricia Feager (Keller Williams Realty): There are only 98 more days; then 2011 will be gone forever, and the New Year begins. I am spending the next five days in September to savor the memories of autumn. I will embrace the beginning of change. Next comes October, an opportunity to harvest my thoughts, do good things, and prepare for things to come. In (10 comments)

So you're having a bad hair day...in real estate? - 09/20/11 06:31 AM
This is a post to help reinforce the necessity to LISTEN to our customers needs, wants and just about everything else they have to say! This builds a picture of them and their lifestyles. These words flowing out of their mouths are the clues to finding the perfect home for them. A lot of agents I know and have worked with like to talk more than listen. Listening is a skill, most sales people can hear but there is a big difference. How often have I heard "my customers have no idea what they want". Well I bet those customers do (16 comments)

FACTS PLEASE>>>FHA LIMIT DECREASE OCT.1,2011 - 09/17/11 06:15 AM
The facts and nothing but the facts please..... FHA DECREASES LOAN AMOUNTS BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2011. Those are the facts, now what you really need to know. After years of steadily rising, the loan limits set by the government agency will be decreased starting October 1st, 2011. With all the effort being put forth to simulate the housing and real estate industries this seems to me like a contra measure that will have the opposite effect desired. That however, is another entire conversation all together and today I am sending the facts only. New decreased loan limits will commence on (59 comments)

HOSPITALITY and the SALES PERSON, that's you Buddy - 09/14/11 07:20 AM
Hospitality and you, yes you and me and all of us in sales. I have a photo of a pineapple included as this is the symbol of welcome and hospitality dating way back to the beginning of road travel and Inns. When a traveler approached and saw a pineapple carved into a gate or overhead on a front entrance they knew they we welcome inside. We as sales people should always make sure that our customers feel a welcome connection to us, that they feel comfortable with us to come "in". It is not just about selling X to person Y (35 comments)

SILENT SUNDAY- SEPT. 11TH- REFLECTION - 09/11/11 06:58 AM
On this silent Sunday posting, instead of a tale of what I was doing or where I was on 9/11/2001 I shall simply post a photo of my favorite place of reflection. Today will be an afternoon of quiet memories to honor those that lost their lives and to reflect on how that day ten years ago changed the world forever. Peace.
More Than a GRAIN of SAND....the importance of Realtors to economic recovery - 09/10/11 06:21 AM
It takes more than a grain of sand to make a beach. It takes lots of grains to make it, just like in real estate a Realtor does not make up the profession. The profession requires lots of "grains" to make it work. One Realtor serving one customer needs the consorted effort of many people to make a deal come to fruition and settle. First there needs to be a customer with a desire to purchase a property. Lets look at that one customer and one Realtor and break it down. Generally that will require a listing agent and buyers agent, (14 comments)

FLORIDA Rentals Scams - Watch Out - 09/06/11 07:52 AM
In the land of Sun & Fun here in SOUTH FLORIDA as Jackie Gleason once said, we also have lots of absentee second home owners. Some distressed to make matters worse and then find out that "someone" has gotten into their homes and rented them out to unsuspecting victims. This is a worthy re-post to emphasize the presences of this scam. Via Anna Banana - AZ Top Banana! Phoenix Broker CRS 602-380-4886 (Phoenix Property Shoppe): Arizona Rentals Scams - Watch Out

Luckily I have friends in high places! That would be the highrise condos along the great beaches of Fort Lauderdale. Today my friends and I will in the very spot in this photo frolicing in the warm surf, soak up the suns rays, probably drink too much beer & wine and enjoy a traditional cookout of specialty pizzas, lasagna, antipastos, sausage onion & pepper hoagies and assorted sweets . This my friends is an Italian American version of a beach cookout:0) Mangia! (17 comments)
Semi-Silent Sunday -SISTERS - 09/04/11 08:29 AM
I have to admit that this blog was inspired by the lovely Dorie Dillard in Texas who wrote this morning about brothers. My twist on this is simple-I have a sister! Not only was she my sister but my best friend and co-conspirator since birth. Inseparable from day one even though we live in different states now i still talk to her almost daily. We have had a lot of great times together throughout the decacdes and only hope they will continue to be awesome in our advancing age. She is my rock, my go to girl and I like to (21 comments)

How do you portray your personal view of Real Estate to the general public? - 09/03/11 07:50 AM
In this market of ups and downs, bad appraisals and lending nightmares it is very easy to let the negative energy in. I read this post from one of my favorite bloggerettes and thought I would keep her positive energy flowing! Let us keep our heads up and positivity flowing forward! Via Deb Brooks, Lake Conroe Real Estate, 936-661-2624: Let me preface this question with my belief system. I believe that we create our own realities to a certain degree. If we carry a "whoa is me" attitude what are we going to gain? We may, if lucky, gain a bit of sympathy (2 comments)
AND BACK TO SCHOOL THEY WENT - 09/01/11 08:19 AM
The summer of 2011 was one spent with many beach filled days for me. For one reason I live on it, but this one was special though as I got to be the "cool" uncle for 10 days. My Godson and nephew were flown down to be spoiled and free from all adult restrictions. We drank too much (soda), we dined extravagantly at the finest restaurants (pizza parlors), stayed up late watching racy movies (The Fast and the Furious parts 1-5) and buried each other in the sand to stay cool during the day. I have to admit to be 9 (12 comments)
