It's Worth the Trip by Land or Sky - - A Slice of REAL Key Lime Pie! - 09/30/11 05:01 PM
You have not properly visited my Key West unless you have savored a wonderful slice of real Key Lime Pie.  This world-renowned pie was declared the official pie of the State of Florida by a vote of both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate on July 1, 2006.  The pie’s history, however, started much earlier in time.
It has never been confirmed who actually made the first Key Lime Pie.  The most popular theory is that William Curry, a Key West ship salvager and our island’s first millionaire, was served the first Key Lime Pie. The pie was … (2 comments)

Key West Fantasy Fest - Join Us for Aquatic Afrolic - 09/26/11 01:32 PM
Non-stop fun and frolic October 21-30 – - this could only be Fantasy Fest in Key West!  This festival tops them all – we’ve gained world-wide Fantasy Fest fame after 30 years of uninhibited and lighthearted fun at this event.  The number of visitors grows each year and we now rival New Orleans’ Mardi Gras in the number of out-of-town visitors for Fantasy Fest.

This music was brought to Key West from the Bahamas, and Key West’s Bahama Village is populated still by many descendants of the original immigrants.
This is the 31st year of the Key West Goombay Festival and … (3 comments)

Well Worth The Visit – Key West Oldest House - 09/11/11 12:47 PM
Typically I’d invite you to my Key West open houses in hopes of a sale, but there is one open house that I encourage you to visit here that is not for sale.  When you are on our island, be sure and stop by 322 Duval Street to visit the oldest house in the Keys and Southern Florida.
Now called the “Oldest House Museum,” the home was originally built in 1829 by Richard Cussans who came to Key West from Nassau.  Key West had been part of the United States for only 8 years through the treaty with Spain that gave … (4 comments)
