Assisting clients in buying and selling real estate is often about disrupting their lives as well as those of their children and parents.

I visited a client in their new waterfront home on a quiet, private lake yesterday during a rain storm.  Boxes were everywhere but it was quiet and serene outside as they laughed and struggled with where to put things inside their smaller home.  They had just moved from an active all-sports public lake (and bigger home) where both of them were raised and their families still reside.  It was a huge step toward more autonomy and a delicate topic of conversation in the closely knit families in the beginning.

Seeing them so happy in their new home, made me realize the importance I had played in their transition to more independence.  It is a new beginning for them.   I am glad to have been a part of the process and happier still that the families have come on board.  It was worth making the journey.

Today we started the day on the lake with a quiet kayak along the water's edge to see the baby wood ducks. Water skiers will soon appear as the day moves on but the night will close with a bonfire and a family picnic. more
