Finally Got My Tripod!  Here are photos of the Plaza Lights on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City - as promised. Enjoy!

As you know, I have been needing a tripod since Thanksgiving but with one thing and another have not gotten around to it until recently. So, finally, I can deliver the photos of the Plaza Lights on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City - Yay!

On the right, we are looking west from the Pan Fountain. Some of the snow has melted as it got up to 35 degrees Farenheit today. We had … (19 comments)

Three Rights Equal One Left - 12/23/09 04:45 AM
Three Rights Equal One Left
My good friend, Carole Plesser, shared this with me and it turned out to be exactly what I've been looking for to share with you this holiday season!
This is a story by Michael Gartner, Pulitzer Prize winner in editorial writing, past newspaper editor, and president of NBC. Hallmark could make a movie from this story! Please enjoy the laughs it brings:My father never drove a car. Well, that's not quite right. I  should say I never saw him drive a car.He quit driving  in 1927, when he was 25 years old, and the last car … (17 comments)

An Old Fashioned Christmas? - 12/17/09 01:49 AM
Several people have been sharing their favorite Christmas songs lately. I love The Little Drummer Boy and White Christmas and anything by Mannheim Steamroller. Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole are old favorites. Nobody sang Frosty the Snowman like Jimmy Durante.
It seems fitting that Celine Dion would take O Holy Night, a French poem, to new heights. Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas always puts a spring in my step.
So many memories are associated with the music we listen to. Christmas music, since many of the same songs are played from year to year, brings us joyous memories of time … (4 comments)

Preview of the Plaza Lights - Wordless Wednesday - 12/16/09 09:37 PM
This photo was taken through the window. I really need a tripod to do it right so please hang in there just a little bit longer. As soon as I have a tripod, I will brave the cold and get all of the streets.

Groundwork - 12/13/09 11:53 PM
This evening, my neighbor asked me about the real estate business in Kansas City. Our overall market has remained healthy throughout the down market experienced nationally. We never had the huge swings that the coastal markets suffered; we're in the Midwest; we move slow; we go up a little; we go down a little; small ripples as opposed to tidal waves.
My business? Well, I hit my goal for the year in October so I'm good. November was mostly about tidying up the files, updating my contact list, and preparing my 2010 business plan. December is filled with holiday obligations, volunteer … (3 comments)
