No, not bagpipes - drain pipes! The Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City is finally getting the new storm drains we've needed for so long! Aren't they pretty? Kissick Construction is installing the new drainage pipes. The workers have been very conscientious in cleaning up after themselves every day at quitting time. They're doing a great job!

This evening, as I was preparing to leave the office, I looked out the window to see people standing in line to get an Apple iPad 2. The lines stretched around the corner and 2/3 the way down Nichols Rd. The Apple Store is about 1/2 block down Broadway. Were they giving the iPads away?

The mighty Clydesdales visit Kansas City's Waldo neighborhood!
People from all over Kansas City came out to greet the magnificent Budweiser Clydesdales at 75th & Wornall in Waldo. We were so pleased to see the Budweiser trucks pulling into the CVS parking lot today.
One team consists of eight horses. There are 4 teams.
Eight Clydesdales climbed out of the three Budweiser trucks. The Clydesdales travel with two drivers and a Dalmatian. (Plus the truck drivers and gear)

Here's a short video taken in Kansas City on a cloudy day last week. After showing some condos downtown, I turned on the flipvideo camera from midtown to the Plaza just so you could get a little Kansas City flavor.
Kansas City is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month this year by turning many of our fountains pink so the last shot in the short video is of JC Nichols fountain in pink.
Did you know that Kansas City has more fountains than any city in the world with the exception of Rome?

Well, we had a beautiful day in Kansas City. Lovely and sunny with just a bit of breeze. All around Brokkside, people were out walking, some with dogs, some with each other. It was a perfect day for an Open House! Guess we lucked out as Brian Buzby says it may freeze tonight. Brrr.
The kittens above were at the open house today. When I first went inside, the yellow one tried to escape. Everytime the door opened the yellow one tried to dart out. He's fast! But we caught him every time. Good thing all the visitors were animal … (15 comments)

Around 6pm yesterday my broker stepped into my office to ask me if I'd looked out the window recently. He wanted me to see this:
Wow! The skies had been blue just a few hours before when I'd been out previewing homes.
Although there was no green in the sky, the wind at ground level was dead still so I decided to call it a day and head home before the storm hit.
