This morning my husband and I left New Bern North Carolina at 7:00 am to fly to Austin Texas to spend Thanksgiving with my husband's daughter and her family.  The folks at the New Bern airport continue to be friendly and helpful, but what has happened to airline service?
My husband and I have flown extensively over the years and I remember, (not so long ago) when flying made me feel pampered and special.  And that was in coach.  Now, once you board the plane, you're on your own.  I could smell breakfast but that was the fast-food take out bags … (11 comments)

I've had some thoughts going through my head for days about being part Native American and Part European and I decided that I would share some of those thoughts as my Thanksgiving wish for all of you.

What do you do when you can't sleep?  As a child I heard about counting sheep.  I never got that.  I tried it and it just didn't make any sense at all.  During recovery from a serious accident I learned to simply count from 100 backward.  That always worked for me.  I never made it past 50.

  I just read a great blog Upgrading Your Home In A Down Market By: Bill Williams.

Maybe there's a book out there, but I haven't seen it and I'm a voracious reader.  But, shouldn't there be some rules about how one behaves in public restrooms?
My office is in a large condominium office building that also houses the public library, so there's significant traffic in the public restroom.  Don't get me started on the lack of housekeeping that is rampant, but come on, how hard is it to put the paper towels IN the receptacle, rather than just tossing AT it?  And ladies, if you didn't think to take a personal product dispenser with you into the … (7 comments)

Hello All Active Rain Pet lovers.  I truly have a difficult decision to make and I've been struggling with it all day and getting mixed answers.  Suddenly, I realized - Wait a minute - I have access to thousands of other pet lovers who can help me figure out the right thing to do.

The market sucks.  My portfolio is dwindling away by the minute.  My dog is sick.  Buyers can't make a decision and sellers are totally unrealistic about prices.  The tax appraisals are outrageous.  Just when I'm getting old enought to be falling apart, my insurance rates went up and my deductible went from $250 to $1500.  And why do I always have to wait to see the doctor?  … (4 comments)

Have you ever met a REALTOR and wondered whose picture you've been seeing on their business cards, website and advertising?  Why do we, REALTORS, put our personal pictures on things?  I do it because I want people to recognise and remember me when they're looking for a REALTOR, and they do.  I often meet new people and they say "I think we've met."  After some conversation they remember, "Oh, you're that REALTOR on the back cover of our local paper, or whatever it is they've remembered.  Now I know my money spent is worth it.
