Title Insurance : What is it? - 12/31/10 11:38 AM
Subject: Title Insurance
Shortly after you are "under contract" in the home buying or selling process, you will receive a document in the mail from the Title Company.
It is a title commitment for your title insurance on the property you have under contract. Be sure to read through for accuracy (spelling of names, etc).
The document serves as the preliminary title report to ensure title is clear by the time of closing.
It is the document referred to on page 1 of the contract you signed for the sale or purchase of your property.

Also, keep a copy for your … (4 comments)

TEXAS: Walker County, Huntsville: Elkins Lake: Christmas Vignette "Many Miles of Mistletoe" - 12/25/10 01:32 PM
Many Miles of Mistletoe....
                                                                 Reflections on Christmas morn

Many miles of mistletoe
linking open wounds and happy reunions
      mortality mirrors fathomless depths
of hungry souls, longing for absolution

Thanks be to Reason--
                to sharing unhampered by vanity
                       to redefining sacrifice
                                      to breaking simple bread together
No roasted suckling pigs with lifeless jowls dripping with sweet nectar,
but a simple meal with a timeless theme
love, acceptance and charity
                    at times interrupted by
uncomfortable laughter  ....whirling in the winds of decided coincidence
while taking a stroll on common ground
in a place where tokens are not accepted

Texas : Walker County : Huntsville: Another Beautiful Elkins Lake Sunset - 12/21/10 08:15 PM
Another Beautiful Sunset in Elkins Lake!
You know, I love my Keller Williams Office Spaces in Huntsville and Conroe, but there's something about working from my home office every now and then.  Home-Made Coffee,
tea with fresh herbs from my herb garden.       YUMMM...

And the Elkins Lake Sunsets from our porches--they sure are Pretty!
Pretty Relaxing too!  Now, don't get me wrong, I am not relaxed all that often.  But a few days from Christmas, taking time to "decompress" a little is a GOOD thing!
And how could this view NOT have a somewhat sedating effect?!

SO, Trying to NOT lose your mind … (5 comments)

What I love about VB! - 12/18/10 08:45 PM
Okay,  it's Saturday night.  And.....I just toured the Christmas display at the Bellagio!
I haven't had the opportunity to go to Vegas to see any of the attractions, but I have heard ALL about Vegas from my husband who has been there many times.
Not sure why I have never been--
Well, I enjoyed the heck out of my tour of the Bellagio.  It is Amazing!  The deer are my favorite part.  Check it out.  I can't believe the scale of the display!
But, I "reckon" that's Vegas... And VB, you are the quintessential "Vegas-ite."

Okay, VB, what is … (5 comments)

Eight People in the Butler's Pantry - 12/17/10 12:55 AM
Eight People in the Butler's Pantry              What I Love About Being a Realtor  A surprise by its very definition is unexpected.  And often, the unexpected joys in life are the ones that keep us doing what we do.  I have had the pleasure of helping numerous families find home.  And, among those families, a couple of pretty large families.  Families with 5 children (yes, each) to find a home they all love. What I didn't expect was to find the joy of connecting with the children that I have missed so much since leaving the teaching/Choral Director profession.  I taught … (1 comments)

What My Husband Will and Will Not ...Allow Me To Do - 12/17/10 12:42 AM
What My Husband Will and Will Not ...Allow Me To DoBy: Mari Zuvich MontgomeryLife is great when you have freedom. Freedom to speak, freedom to act, freedom to try new things. As I drove through a drive through to pick up some lunch, a soldier  in service to our great country crossed the parking lot.I instinctively opened my window and shouted, "Thanks for your service to us," he turned around, removed his cap, tipped his head, smiled broadly and said, "your welcome, mam."We live in a truly great country.  On a daily basis, it really helps to think about and appreciate all those freedoms. In some of our households, however, those freedoms … (8 comments)

Life's Ironies, On the Highway...Straight to YOUR Neighborhood! - 12/16/10 12:00 AM

So, there it was in all of its splendor-----a truck, a "semi" to be exact---- "Going Green" along Interstate 45.
Driving to my office the other day, I witnessed one of the many available visual ironies
A semi -- hauling-----you guessed it----yet another trailer ("pups" as they are called) with the logo "Go Green!"
Hmmmmmmmmmmm..............
Kind of made me think of several things, besides the obvious irony.
For one, the House Hunters episode (I love that show) that was about a woman in Oregon looking to live in a Green Commune.
The concept is smaller living areas with the basics and a large main house where communal dinners are shared, and fresh organic … (1 comments)

Texas : Walker County : Huntsville : Winterize your outdoor pipes--Complete "How To"-What You'll Need, Where to Find it and a Video Showing you How
Be Safe-Not Sorry!
It's that time of year---frost on the pumpkin means freezing temperatures at night.  Even here in East Texas, it gets pretty cold.  Take measures now to be sure you won't have an issue with freezing pipes during this Holiday Season.
This weekend as you are going to the stores to pick up holiday decorations and gifts, be sure to stop by Lowes, Home Depot or your local Hardware store to pick up some … (0 comments)

Immigrant Dreams : From Croatia to PA to TX : The Gift of Freedom and a New Life is Born at Ellis Island - 12/05/10 12:53 AM
Immigrant Dreams : from Croatia to PA to TX : the Gift of Freedom and a New Life is Born at Ellis Island
My Grandfather, born Viecoslaw Zuvic, later Louis Zuvich came through Ellis Island with a dream, like so many.  He not only held a job, but was a supervisor, and never learned English.  Talk about your great communicators.  The tongue of my family is Serbo-Croatian, the "umbrella language" of the former Yugoslavia.
Viecoslaw means "forever glorious."  I will never forget because I looked through the Ellis Island manifests for a long time and never found "Louis Zuvich."  Well, it … (16 comments)

Texas : Montgomery County : A Dallas Cowboy Profile in Courage: A Special Teams Hero!

Stunning, isn't it?  Cowboy stadium in all of its glory, and the Cowboys?    Well, I dunno.  Who will "show up" tomorrow again the Indianapolis Colts.  Should be "some" game.
I mean, how inconsistent can they get?  Picked to not only play on the Super Bowl---but WIN the Super Bowl.  What happened?

So many expectations, yet so much disappointment.  Players let us down, coaches let us down.  But let me say this: The special teams coach, Joe DeCamillis, is an amazing man and an amazing … (0 comments)

"Imported" Sunrise ------------Good Morning Active Rain! - 12/03/10 10:48 AM
"Imported" Sunrise
Is this a "Good Morning" photo, or  what?!
My father in law sent this to me. It is from his former student from SFA (Stephen F Austin University) Wiley Denson.  My father in law writes: " You guys like sunsets.  How about this SUNRISE sent by Wiley Denson from his Alaska home"
Wow, wow, wow.  What a place. My father in law is just about to be 86 AND legally blind, and my mother in law is 83.  She is a 3-time cancer survivor ( but that's a whole other blog).  They travelled to Alaska last year.  You would not believe … (3 comments)
