active rain: Another Rescue-Teddy Bear's Story and C.P.R. - 01/24/09 04:36 AM
A little mini Poodle named Teddy Bear ended up in the Carolina Poodle Rescue a few years back through no fault of his. Now, sadly, at 91/2 years old he is returning; again, through not fault of his. It seems tha this adopted mother died and he found himself homeless again. Poor baby sitting in a shelter in Missouri. Well once again C.P.R. www.CarolinaPoodleRescue.org is coming to his rescue as they would do for any of their own. A long and intricate journey involving more than 10 volunteers will be taking him from the shelter back to a safe place in

active rain: Help a Poodle! CPR Transport Please Help if You Can - 01/19/09 09:05 PM
Carolina Poodle Rescue www.carolinapoodlerescue.org is a great, registered, non-profit organization that I support as much as I am able. The name is deceptive because they help Poodles and other dogs from all over the country. Occassionally they need help with transport which I also do when able. recently Rich Dansereau and Danny Thorton from AR helped them out with a transport. Basically they are trying to move a dog from one location to Pcolet, S.C. The need has arisen agagin and this guy is coming a long way. If you can, you will need to volunteer to traansport the dog approximately

active rain: Slow is a Big No Go Today - 01/17/09 11:55 PM
Just have to vent. My laptop is only less than 1 year old and lately it has been acting up. Today was the worst. It mad me so frustrated because I had a lot to catch up on not the least of which was doing my blogging here. Now it is ten minutes until the end of the week and I didn'[t get my blogs done as I had planned which makes me quite angry. I did back up my files onto a disc, well actually seven of them, and did some hard drive clean up. So, now, here it is,

active rain: SNOW, SNOW, SNOW IN CHATTANOOGA TN. AND I'M SHOUTING!!!!! - 01/17/09 11:50 PM
We have had snow on and off all day today and I am ecstatic! We don't get snow often here and so I anxiously await some each uear. The last significant snow was in 1993 the Blizzard of '93. Oh what I would give for a nice big one like that. Mostly what we get are teases. I grew up in snow country and I miss an occassional storn during winter about as much as I miss my ocean. The forecast is for snow and freezing precipitation through mid morning tomorrow. I won't get my hopes up though. It is sounding

active rain: A Remarkable Big Little City, Chattanooga Tennessee - 01/15/09 08:34 PM
I remember the first time that I knew that I was coming to Chattanooga, Tn. for an extended time period. I thought "Deliverance" then I came; with reservations, and never left! This is a remarkable microcosm of larger cities, but, with the friendliness and familiarity of a nice town. Chattanooga caters to so many areas of interest that it becomes mind boggling! I would have to write a 200 page travel guide to cover things fully, but, just to start things off, here are some of the broad reaching activities that the area offers. Outdoor Activities - Hiking, boating, kayaking, swimming,

active rain: Ebay- Sell a VCR or a Wii Game? a metaphor for real estate - 01/11/09 10:01 PM
The vast majority of investors are running around trying to scrape together great deals on mediocre properties. I compare that to buying an expensive and more popular device such as the Wii or buying an inexpensive and obsolete device like a VCR and then attempting to resell it on Ebay. Sure, you can probably get a VCR cheap, maybe even free on www.Freecyle.com but then you probably will either not sell it or maybe break even. Worse yet you might incur selling fees without a sale. Now, on the other hand if you were to purchase a used or refurbished Wii

active rain: Just Playin' in the Rain! Just Playin' in the Rain! I'm Happy Again - 01/10/09 09:30 PM
I have been burning my eyes out behind the computer screen tweeting and learning SEO and reviewing sites; and reading articles. ALthough useful and interesting, I am burned out and quite frankly relieved to be here just splashing around. Tonight I have taken the time to read other people's blogs that I have never read and to just wander around pitty pattering and exploring. Great stuff here on the rain, really, A lot of knowledge can be found here and sometimes it is just great to unwind and splash about playing in the Rain. That's what I be a doin' tonight.

I have started a new blog on WordPress www.oodlesofpoodles.wordpress.com Please do go check it out. Not yet though, I haven't written anything there quite yet. I thought that today I would present you with pictures of all kinds of Poodles, Oodles of Poodles to just look at and admire these refined creatures. They can be moody and they definitely have very distinct personalities. I hope that you will appreciate them as much as I do.

I don't know about you, but, that sentiment expressed in the 40's by F.D.R. sure has been circling around my thoughts lately. I mean I see otherwise rational and business minded people running around talking to me about the collapse of our monetary system, the death of real estate as a viable profession; the unending national debt, and I get thinking--no, REACTING. Internally I feel myself start to become angry. Why? Well, for a variety of reasons. That thinking presses in on my otherwise resilient outlook and starts to form like a grey cloud. I dislike those that stir up others

I know that this time of year is still somewhat harried for most people, but, if you are starting to plan your campaigns and marketing for this year, please consider expanding your reach with social media. I know, probably a foreign term to half of you and old news for the rest. I guess that I am in the middle on this. I am new, but, learn fast. I have gained a wealth of information from using it since just before Christmas. Sites such as Twitter, Digg, Fcebook and Linkedin are examples, but, there are many more. I have made many

active rain: Somewhere Over the Rainbow........Hixson, Tennessee 11-15-08 - 11/15/08 10:54 PM
Today was an odd kind of day. It went from rainy and warm to now at 11 p.m. rainy and cold. In between there was some sunshine mixed with dark clouds in the distance. While I was way out in the country I glanced to my right and saw this. For me it had to be a sign; a sign that better times were ahead. I don't believe in coincidence and this rainbow was meant for me! Another view There's a place.......at the end of MY rainbow!

active rain: When they Just Don't Get it!!! - 11/13/08 11:38 PM
What do you do when your prospects don't get it? They describe a $750,000 home and want to spend $250,000 with owner financing too! They want to trade their pet goat, old "vintage" pickup or 1st born and want top dollar, but, expect the owner to deep discount the property. What about those that have it in their head that all towns are created equal with regard to the economic lanscape and they flat out state that they "know" that sellers are DESPERATE and therefore want more than is reasonable to expect? On the other hand, what do you do with

This beautiful land at the foothills of Starr Mountain is a new listing of ours and is situated perfectly. Convenient to Chattanooga, Cleveland and Knoxville, Tennessee and yet open and unrestricted. You can actually breathe and feel so in touch with nature! This land is perfect for a nice log cabin and plenty of horses. It is being sold in 8 acre tracts

Here is Starr a gorgeous mini Poodle dressed in his go-to-church finest! Many of you have seen my fabulous Poodles and heard about how remarkable they are. So many more like him are just waiting for a good family or person to take them home. They are so eager to love and

active rain: Dollar Store Real Estate Office - You Can Too!!! - 11/08/08 03:09 PM
I had twirled around the idea of opening an office since the day I became licensed. For a year after I received my Broker's license I seriously toyed with it. No time ever seemed like the right time and I was broke, but, I took the plunge--100foot free fall. As it turned out I purchased 3 nice desks, 3 office chairs, a copier, coffee table and some miscellaneous chairs for about $800 from a company that was going out of business. From there it was on to The Family Dollar Store and Southeastern Salvage. Really. I decorated my new office

active rain: Salisbury, Md. Home of the Poodle Nationals - 11/08/08 02:02 PM
Every year Salisbury Md. welcomes Poodle breeders and fanciers from all over the world. It is the Poodle Club of America's National Specialy Show. It is something to see at least once in a lifetime. There is pagentry galore. Sod is brought in for the rings and there are live plants and flowers. This is bigger than Westminster for Poodle people. It used to be held in June, now it is held in APril so the dogs flying in can avoid the heat in the planes. Every top Poodle show dog is there. There re also a number of performance

active rain: The Ignorance and Bliss of Playing in Toxic Waste - 11/08/08 12:00 PM
As those of you who follow my blog know, I grew up in Monmouth County N.J. On the map above it is not shown but located just south of Lincroft. We were raised in a subdivision of 3 BR 2 Ba ranch style homes built on land that used to be a farm. One of my favorite things to do was to play with my friends in the woods that had a creek running through it. My best friend and I spent numerous hours a day climbing up and down the steep sidewalls and sloshing through the creek. We had
