There is a new trend in housing that has been showing up in Collegedale, Tennessee for a while and I see it beginning to trend elsewhere. Like the name implies, Collegedale is a college town; home to Southern Adventist University, a large religous university.
University housing is spread out throughout the town of Collegedale including dormitories, graduate student housing and faculty rental units. A lot of real estate is owned by the university. What wonderful sounds an sites and smells are in Collegedale, Tn this time of year! I am not going to try to tell you a story, simply let you look at what I collected today from around town in the fall season.. By the way, this weekend was homecoming weekend for Collegedaale Academy and a lot of folks were in town to enjoy the season and many special events and old friends. There were several concerts and a gymnastic exhibit that I know of and many other events that I haven't caught up with yet.

Apison is a small community that is a sub suburb of Chattanooga and I guess a suburb of Ooltewah and Collegedale Tennessee. It is difficult to know the boundaries of Apison; it threads itself around Collegedale, Ooltewah and the south part of Bradley County Tennessee. There is a small post office located off of East Brainerd Road and there is a Hullco center and a small antique/trading shop but not much other commerce per se. The Collegedale, Tennessee is a small, but, an active little airport located on the corner of Apison Pike and Bess Moore Road in Collegedale, right on the Apison border. It caters to the Southern University, McKee Foods (Little Debbie); the Seventh Day dventist Church and local enthusiasts.
For a small are this is a very active airport. You may have read about tragic crsh after tkeoff about 12/3 years ago when four people were killed including the regional head of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. I am going to dedicate my first blog post about the area to Collegedale which shall also include our neighbors Apison, McDonald, Ooltewah and East Brainerd. This entire area is full of growth and remains a decent place to live with low crime rates, multi cultural and regional exposure and unique areas of interest.
Collegedale is home to Southern Adventist University and because of this draws people from all over the world.
