New Year's Resolutions and Real Estate
We all have done it.  Not so much the setting of goals, or wanting to get back into shape, or find new work out plateau's.  But the setting of those goals and starting on January 1st.  That in and of itself is not a bad thing.  Actually very comendable.  Where it goes bad is in wanting to accomplish it all in the first week!
Even if you don't belong to a Club just drive by one the first week or so of January.  I am betting you will see a parking lot that is jammed with cars. … (12 comments)

2nd Try With a Shift in Thinking and Focus
I must admit that '2nd Try' is far from accurate yet all the previous efforts were all the same with just different numbers, or numbers in different areas.  After years in Real Estate and being bombarded with #s, how many calls to make, how much to make each month for the year end, and the #s list can go on and on.  Problem was I was like the preverbial fly that kept knocking itself on the window to get out.
Last year I completely stepped back and took a very close look.  What … (28 comments)

1st half of the year review - Contest
4th of July brings BBQ's, parades, celebrations, fireworks.  It also brings the beginning of the second half of the year.  A wise time to review one's 2016 goals and business plans.  This is in answer to 'July 4th Contest - How is your business plan looking? '  This being an example only and not for AR points in the contest.
Early this year I made a concious decision to not make numbers my driving goals.  # of listings.  Volumn.  New prospects.  # of lead generation calls a day.  I wanted to focus on 'habits' … (17 comments)

July 4th Contest - How is your business plan looking?
With a recent question I asked, in Active Rain, Debbie Reynolds inquired if I would host a contest with the same question.  July 4th has its obvious celebrations.  What it also means to us, is the beginning of the 2nd half of the year.
We all have goals, business plans, and strategies laid out for ourselves at the beginning of the year.  Bob Crane has us check in for our 100 day review of those.  As July 4th comes and goes every year we begin the 2nd half of the year. We no longer have … (91 comments)

Karma in North Idaho circles very quickly !
Nina Hollander had a wonderful post this Sunday morning that it was/is National Compliment Day.  I enjoyed the post and went out of my way to pass along some compliments that I normally would take mental note of, and not verbalize.  Every sincere compliment earned a warm smile and thank you.
When called by Bob  "Realman" Timm for 'Singing in the Rain' he asked me about my Real Estate goals.  I tried to explain they were not the normal goals you put numbers and a timeline to, although I do have action plans.  Not always the … (11 comments)

Making the Right Choices - Get the Big Rocks First
Business or personal.  We all need make choices every day.  Those choices will determine our tomorrows.  Bob Crane wrote an excellent post in January examining the importance of constantly revisiting your goals to be sure you are in line to meet them.  I did so for end of month and not very pleased with myself.  I had to sit back and question as to whether I am Making the Right Choices and Getting the Big Rocks First.  Great video to watch:

First I fell short on the January Blog Boost Post.  By … (20 comments)

goals: Goal checks and adjustments for 2015 - 01/13/15 12:34 PM
Goal checks and adjustments for 2015
We are two weeks into 2015.  Bob Crane wrote a very insightful post recently.  It was based around the importance of continually monitoring the goals you have set for yourself and business.  On any journey if we are not constantly checking our course we can drift away from the destination.  In some cases too far to ever get back on course again.  So goal checks and adjustments for 2015 are important from the start to the end.
One of my goals is to watch closely my ROI on marketing, lead generating, follow up systems.  One … (7 comments)

Planning, organizing, goal setting for 2015
I well appreciate the importance of goal setting and being organized for the year ahead. Whether I have everything in order, or not for a coming year, one of the first items of business for me is getting the Christmas decorations down immediately after Christmas Day.  In fact there has been a couple of times on Christmas night I have started.  My Planning, organizing, goal setting for 2015 would be hindered were not Christmas Decorations down.
I really enjoy Christmas and all the warmth and beauty of the season.  I do not understand leaving decorations and lights … (11 comments)
