snow: Supervisors Pushing Hard in North Idaho - 01/05/17 07:36 AM
Supervisors Pushing Hard in North Idaho
With the continued snow fall, and now near zero temps daily, extra work necessary.  While Frosty was here for the Holidays I thought I might get some extra help from a professional in the snow field.  As it turns out both Halley and Frosty were of the Supervisory positions only.
Bad enough having to do all the work myself they insisted I get a pic of them together until Frosty returns again next year.  Have to wonder sometimes.

snow: 1st 2016 Snow on Valley Floors in Sandpoint Idaho - 11/24/16 05:11 AM
1st 2016 Snow on Valley Floors in Sandpoint Idaho
Many would find this a discouraging sight when coming out to their vehicle in the morning.  I am pleased to see the snow finally making it to the valley floors in and around Sandpoint Idaho.  A perfect touch for Thanksgiving today.
By days end yesterday most had melted away but the nearby hills still maintained an artists dusting of white for both visitors and locals to enjoy this Thanksgiving.
This gives hopes for Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort to soon be opened with deep pack and groomed runs. Think snow and enjoy the season.

snow: 4 Inches New Snow at Schweitzer Mountain past 24 Hours - 02/02/15 11:45 AM
4 Inches New Snow at Schweitzer Mountain past 24 Hours
Snow started falling hard in Sandpoint late this morning and has been coming down steady at Schweitzer Mountain Resort since a bit earlier than that.  The snow at Schweitzer is expected to continue through the night.
Warm conditions prior to this storm left some runs closed and will need be evaluated prior to opening tomorrow AM.  Be sure though, this new snow is a welcome sight and a sure help to the mountain activities and events, at Schweitzer, in the month of February.   Search: "Schweitzer Mountain Resort Condos for Sale" … (8 comments)

snow: Sandpoint, Idaho sees its first snow on the valley floor ! - 11/10/14 12:01 PM
I was excited this morning, as I headed for the office, expecting Sandpoint, Idaho to have received it's first snow of the year.  Naples, Idaho had a little less than an inch and surprisingly heading south will show more snow than north.  I knew just the spot I wanted to take a picture of this "First Snowfall"
It was not to be.  The weather pattern was opposite of what it normally is.  Naples and Bonners Ferry, Idaho had received more snow, albeit minimal.  The spot I had planned on taking the picture still had a magical feel to it this … (5 comments)

snow: Final days of Fall at Schweitzer Ski Resort for Youtube Thursday - 11/06/14 10:03 AM
Final days of Fall at Schweitzer Ski Resort in Sandpoint, Idaho
With the hard rains today I thought it would be appropriate to give a last look at Schweitzer Resort before the white storms show up.  I was up there just the other day and quite beautiful.  The fall colors were still trying to hold on while a light dusting of snow was on the upper ridges.  All this only emphasized the final fall days at Schweitzer Resort as skiers and boarders alike anxiously await the white magic.
The main Village itself was looking more like a ghost town that anything … (10 comments)

snow: End of season at Schweitzer Resort for Speechless Sunday - 10/26/14 01:27 PM
The clouds would clear just enough today to give peeks of Schweitzer Ski Resort. I was not sure but thought I might be seeing snow up there on the upper ridges.  I decided to take Halley for a walk.  I was fortunate to run into someone and asked for a picture.  I have always said Schweitzer has better views from its parking lot than 90% of ski mountains have from their peaks.  This shot of Halley and I are on an access run to the ski village, looking back to Lake Pend Orielle and Sandpoint.  Gorgeous.
