Memorial Day is coming, to me it is special not for myself as a military veteran but for those who fought the enemy in this country. For me extends beyond those who served in any sort of uniform it goes to those who supported such service in the face of tyranny. This day is becoming a sad day each and every year as our government acts in such tyranny. The current operators of gevernment have taken this country in the wrong direction each and every year inventing more ways to control the lives of the individual.
The founding of this country by the very brave men and women who had dreams and aspiriations for the common man to have the opportunity to secure the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness they understood the principles in these rights. Today as a real estate professional I would like to focus on the one right for which I believe my service in the military was sacred, the right to acquire property.
I stated the right to acquire as opposed to property rights. The elitists or aristocracy throughout the ages always had the right to property. Government law has been used to protect property rights and these laws were made by the wealthy to keep that wealth even in the face of irresponsibility. Today we see the rise of aristocracy in the government and we need to look no further than the bailouts of failing institutions such as banks, automakers to name a few. We are protecting their properties by law but at the same time we are killing off the right to acquire by the common people. All the laws, codes and regulation favor big business. These laws are enacted in the name of protecting consumers, yet consumers still get ripped off. The protection is a false sense of security and liberty is thus lost on the common person.
Laws, codes, regulations all favor the big businesses and require the entreprenuer to bow to the brass ring. What this does is make it difficult for them to deliver to consumer a superior service or product and the consumer who these laws were made to protect is damaged by the limited choice of the select few busineesses who have the means to operate. Furthermore to insult the consumer we will tax them to bailout the select few in the name of stability. Who controls the goverment, surely not the voters.
If you feel you are being trampled on and your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in danger then you have turned from the Spirit of America. You have abandoned the veteran who served for your rights and freedoms for which they served. I for one served so I could enjoy such rights and I for one made it my personal mission to educate myself on what was given us at the founding of this country and what was lossed. I recommend you become the American you believe you are and start with the writings of the Founders. Good sources for you to start is www.wallbuilders.com. I also recommend some great information from Dr. Walter E. Williams, professor from George Mason University, http://econfaclty.gmu.edu/wew/. A good book on the subject is Vindicating the Founders, by Thomas G. West.
