I should have known this before I bought my own house (at the time of purchase it was a second home) - the developer maintains a sales office in my development steering buyers away from the resale homes in the area and gets  them a better "deal" a with new build-job. I know this happens a little bit everywhere, but here it is extreme!

This is an area luxury homes that attract very wealthy and influential people.

I don't want to move and I love my house. But I have clients who must sell. Their beautiful home was built in 2004 and has luxury upgrades everywhere - granite circular kitchen, inlaid copper doors, spectacular views of towering red cliffs 2000 feet high and from the other side a view of two States. We recently had interested buyers in this house and then a few days later spent so much time with the agressive sales agent (ironically a friend of the seller) with the jovial upbeat developer that they purchased a building lot instead. This will cost them much more money even though they were originally looking for a bargain like all buyers do.

There is no question severe steering from that "Sales Center" is happening - I have not mentioned this to anyone yet and I talked to an attorney - there is nothing I can do - it is not illegal or considered unethical. Only 2 resale houses have sold in the last year, and countless houses are under custom construction. What should I do?
