If it’s a small amount of mold, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency suggests you try cleaning it yourself (see the Tips column in this issue for advice and guidance). However, if the contaminated area is larger than three square feet, if you suspect your heating system is contaminated, or if the mold grew from sewage water, your best bet is to bring in the experts. Henry Ford once said that when you hire people who are smarter than you are, it proves you are smarter than they are. The trick is to find the right person. For the most part, they all cost about the same. Why not hire a person with more education and experience than you? Our company sends out customer service questionnaire to our clients after ever closing, and this one came back with great feedback. Besides giving me 10 on service, professionalism and knowledge of the Real Estate Process this is what my client said. "I am a second language speaker, I spent the last 3 years waiting for an agent who can handle my impatience & fear etc. till I started communication with Mark online, honesty, patient & loyal what drove me to sign with him. The most important advantage to selling your home yourself may mean more money in your pocket. By selling it yourself you same the commissions. Get the bed ready: Designate one drawer of a dresser for sheets and towels so that you won't have to rummage through boxes for these essentials the first night.
