Vancouver Washington Real Estate - Photo Journal - Aren't Macro Lenses Fun?

I think we should ask for an extension on our inspection contingency. We may want to bring in a pest and dry rot specialist!Photo Journal - Vancouver Washington Real Estate is a side project for me. Real Estate can be a bit tedious and I will occasionally post interesting pictures of the non real estate world as I see it. I am not sure where this will take me but I know that it will be a fun ride.Follow this link to see the rest of Photo Journal - … (3 comments)

photabulous friday fotos: I think it goes this way! My favorite Kodak Moment - 12/02/10 05:42 PM

I think it goes this way! My favorite Kodak MomentI shot this a few years back on a second's notice. My son, Jake, and my daughter, Emilee, were playing in the living room when Emilee told me to grab a camera and come quick. Knowing that guys like me should never argue with strong women, I did as I was told and we held an impromptu photo session. This photo was the result.A fun side note about this photo is that I had it printed, matted, framed and it held a prominent spot in the living room for several years. When ever the … (11 comments)

photabulous friday fotos: Swimming with the Sea Lions? My Kodak Moment! - 12/02/10 06:50 AM

Swimming with the Sea Lions? My Kodak Moment!
This is a shot that I took in 2006 at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. The zoo set aside a special day for an Autism Walk to generate funds and raise awareness. Our son, Nick, is high functioning autistic and loves the zoo. We loaded up the family and spent a fabulous day wandering around the grounds and seeing the animals. The picture is from the sea lion exhibit. There is a path that leads underground so that visitors can see the sea lions in their natural habitat. The three children with … (10 comments)

PhoTabulous Friday Fotos - Winter WonderlandSki time in the Pacific Northwest is finally here! We bought our season passes last week, tuned the skis, and hit the slopes. It is still early in the season and Mt. Hood - Timberline already has a 68" base. Daytime temps are hanging in  the low teens so the crowds are thin and the snow is staying cold and fresh.Don't forget snow chains or studded tires as they are required for the road from the fire dept. up to the lodge. Have fun!

PhoTabulous Friday Fotos - Reflecting On The WorldI have built a smal collection of these shots over the years. It is always fun to find new and creative ways to shoot self portraits. This is a shot of Janice and me last February. I took this one on a bright sunny morning in a store front window at the corner of Clinton and Bienville in New Orleans.

I found this in a room at Skyview High School last night during curriculum night."Impossible is just a big word thrown around by unmotivated people who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it"This is a partial quote from Muhammad Ali.Jeez, this is alot better than the quotes on the walls when I was growing up, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog!"Go Torrance Tartars!

So there I was, strolling through Burlington Coach factory, when I ran across this. Priceless! What kind of parent would ever??? Can you imagine little Sally skipping into her 3rd grade class wearing a pair of these? What would her teacher say?
What next? Stripper poles for toddlers? I must be getting old.

A few shots of my rafting trip down the Hood River last weekend. We used Wet Planet for guide service. Their guides are fun and friendly, their equipment is well maintained, and the river is awesome this time of year. Wet Planet is based out of White Salmon Wa. Go to Wet Plantet for more details.

This is shot of the boys on their A-Cats out playing on the lake. These fast race boats are a very competitive class out on Vancouver lake. They often finish the race within mere seconds of each other. Do you think they called each other to coordinate the red tops and black bottoms?

photabulous friday fotos: Photabulous Friday Fotos - Planning to move soon? - 07/02/10 04:36 AM

On rainy days, my mind tends to drift off to faraway sunny places. Then I start Googling for vacation deals. Then I start begging Janice to let me book something. Then I start dieting. Then I start packing. Then someday in the near future, the two of us are on a plane to a distant tropical island. And it all started on a rainy day by letting my mind wander!

R.E.D. Day Success In Vancouver Washington! This is just a quick snap shot from RED Day on May 13, 2010. 33 KW Vancouver Premier Partner realtors and friends met at Gaiser Elementary school in Vancouver Washington to clean up the grounds, tutor students in math, deliver inspirational speeches, and to help run a track meet. It was a long day of hard work and it is amazing how much we managed to do. My team worked on flower beds. Weeding, trimming planting, and laying bark dust. I finished the day by being the official measure-er for the boys long jump. There were … (3 comments)

photabulous friday fotos: PhoTabulous Friday Fotos - Spring Has Sprung! - 04/23/10 07:25 AM

One of my favorite things about springtime here in Vancouver Washington is all of the different types of flowering trees. It seems like everyones' yards just come alive with beautiful blooms and bright colors. Unfortunately, the blooms on these types of trees are usually short lived, not lasting more than a week or so. In some areas of the city, the trees dropping their petals make it look like pink snowflakes wafting in the breeze.

photabulous friday fotos: Photabulous Friday Fotos - Just Fishin' - 04/16/10 11:55 AM

I had a chance to take this morning off to go fishing and I took it! The Kokanee at Merwin Lake were biting this morning, so my mortgage lender, Stephen Bowdon, and I took a "Sick Day" in order to catch a few. The weather was great, the fish were biting, and we both caught our limits in about 2 hours. Looks like we are have Kokanee fillets for dinner!

I found this at a job site where I was volunteering. If it weren't so sad, it would be comical. This home has sat vacant for over 15 years. The owner has Alzheimer's disease and left the home to sit when her husband died in 1995. Yes, that IS a big spider!

This is what it looked like when I got there.
