Nestled amidst Dieppe Garden's famous roses and its awesome views of the riverfront is a stunning tribute to Windsor's veterans. The monument has a large Silver Cross and a massive granite sculpture dedicated to peace, and reminds us to remember "the service personnel of World Wars I, II, Korea and Peacekeeping from Windsor and Essex County who gave their today for our tomorrow."

Windsor Elvis Fest is coming to the Chrysler Theatre. Elvis Tribute Artists will perform over 400 songs from two decades of the King's music. The show features Danny Granger, John Cigan, Chris Ayotte, Pete Paquette, Jay Zanier, and more. The ExSpence Account Showband, rated the #1 Elvis tribute band in the world, will also be on stage. Fabulous Fireworks Display - 06/20/08 05:49 PM
Every summer Windsor and Detroit co-host a gigantic fireworks display celebrating Canada Day and the American Independence Day. This year the fireworks will be held on Wednesday, June 23. Over one million spectators will gather on both sides of the river to watch the awesome display. There will be over 10,000 fireworks shot off over the Detroit River during the 30-minute show.

The annual Shrine Circus is one of the largest fundraising events sponsored by the Shriners. The Circus provides a fun-filled family event with proceeds going to a good cause. This year, the Windsor Arena will be hosting the Shrine Circus on Tuesday, July 8 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7.50 to $15.00. Ontario Bans Pesticide Use - 06/11/08 01:41 PM
Last month, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty introduced legislation to ban the cosmetic use of pesticides across the province. The legislation, expected to go into effect next spring, will prohibit the use and the sale of pesticides for cosmetic purposes. The new legislation applies to lawns, gardens, parks, and schoolyards but will not apply to agriculture, according to the province. Pesticides needed to address public health issues such as the West Nile virus will also be exempt from legislation, as will golf courses. Ontario is the second province after Quebec to introduce legislation banning the use of pesticides for cosmetic use. More
