One of the questions I'm often asked as a REALTOR® is, "What is a half bathroom?" Recently, the Southern California Multiple Listing Service incorporated a new set of input fields to their system. And with this change, I'm sure I'll be hearing the question more often. Here's the definition direct from SoCal MLS:
"In most parts of the country, a full bathroom includes a toilet, a sink, a bathtub and a shower. A combination bath and shower counts as two fixtures. If the bathroom has only three fixtures it is a 3/4 bath. If it has only two fixtures it is a … (16 comments)

Get Ready For Another Postage Increase - Forever Stamps Might Be A Good Answer - 02/11/08 04:41 PM
The U.S. Postal Service has announced today that beginning May 12th it will cost 1 penny more to mail a one ounce letter First Class. The cost will be 42 cents. The price of the Post Office's Forever stamp will increase to 42 cents. There have been over 5 billion Forever Stamps sold since they became available last April. So, here's your chance to save a penny and buy some of the Forever Stamps at their current rate of 41 cents. Today, on the way to the Open House I was holding in Rancho Santa Margarita, I stopped to pick up a case of bottled water. People cruising through lots of houses can work up a thirst and always seem to appreciate getting a nice cold bottle of water.

This morning I heard a statistic that over 47 million Americans are without health insurance. It was a wake-up call for me. Oh, I know that this is an issue that we've heard politicians talking about for many years, but for some reason today it struck a chord.
It has been my family's good fortune to have a group health plan for many years through my husband's work at the County of Orange. Are you a technolgy buff? Me too. One of the things I miss most of the 8 years I spent as an investment advisor is getting to see cutting edge technology before it's introduced to the world. I found this video today that I just had to share. While not a new video, it sure blew me away! It features a screen that's large enough for boomers like me to enjoy. Wouldn't it be cool to have a screen this size on our iFONES? Not quite as portable, but sure would be fun to use!

The National Association of REALTORS® was formed in 1908 to provide an ethical guideline for those individuals involved in the practice of real estate. They followed the lead other business professionals such as doctors and lawyers who had united to provide accountability for those professionals. Later, in 1913, the National Association of REALTORS® drafted and adopted the REALTORS'® Pledge of Performance.

2008 marks the National Association of REALTORS® 100th year of upholding a higher standard for those individuals who wish to step up to the highest level of accountability for real estate professionals.
If you've been listening to radio or TV lately, you've probably heard one of the many commercials advising you to "talk to a REALTOR®" if you're thinking of buying or selling a home. As a kid from the fifties, those words sure made an impression on me. No matter what peril befell the city, all the problems could be solved in just one half-hour episode including 10 minutes of commercials. Just once in awhile wouldn't it be cool to be able to call upon the powers of a superhero to make everything go smoother in our daily lives?

In 1963, Congress approved February as American Heart Month. Every year since, the President has issued a proclamation to raise public awareness of heart disease.
