Memories At Active Rain... A Love Story Of A Journey Without End - 09/29/09 12:09 AM
Ahhh.... memories. How sweet the feeling when our mind wanders back in time to those places and events that placed a happy memory in our soul, our heart or in our head. Memories of laughter, of love, of aha's that changed our lives forever. Like the memories evoked when someone or something comes into your life that was totally unexpected, totally foreign and totally captivating. Something like Active Rain. Like many I was introduced to Active Rain by a colleague and very good friend. Someone who thought I should try Active Rain, would enjoy Active Rain, could learn from Active Rain. So I peaked in and my first

Tick Tock...Tick Tock... You Still Have Time To Beat the Clock... Maybe If You Hurry - 09/25/09 09:39 PM
Your Browser Does Not Support Frames. Use this link instead. For months now the word has been that if you are a first time homebuyer or have not owned a home for at least three (3) years that Uncle Sam will give you a tax credit of up to $8,000 when you buy a home. Hmmmm... sounds like a promising proposition for sure. You betcha, as many have jumped at the chance. Not only did they jump at the chance of receiving up to $8,000 back in their pockets from Uncle Sam but they jumped at the chance to buy

From Sale To Sold... Agency Relationships Do Make A World Of Difference - 09/24/09 11:45 PM
Helping families, couples or even a single person make the transition from their city to ours is always a fun and exciting time for me when selling real estate. The anticipation along with the trepidation of making such a move can seem and feel quite daunting to them and I love to help smooth the way and introduce them to our area. Last year one such couple was transferring here from the Midwest. Excitement was in the air as they contemplated their new positions in Washington DC and their new home in the Annapolis Md area. We found the perfect new home for

Giving Showing Feedback- Does It Step On Your Buyer Agency Duty of Confidentiality? - 09/22/09 11:06 PM
Here's a thought. Does giving showing feedback on a listing to the listing agent step on your duty of confidentiality between you and your Buyer? This question came up today when I went to an Agent Luncheon and was sitting at the same table with a few other agents enjoying our lunch. On the table were feedback forms from the listing agent asking us to give our thoughts. As for me I dislike these forms. The questions they ask do not work well with my brain as I am a free flow feedback person and hate being put in a box that says

Creativity- Making the Most of A Sticky Situation - 09/18/09 03:53 PM
This past week while attending the Maryland Real Estate Convention I stayed at a friends condo not far from the convention site. Though I spent very little time at the condo, the time I was able to relax was spent enjoying beautiful views of the ocean and lots of comfortable amenities within. Upon entering the half bath one day I noticed a little cut out in the half bath door. Wondering what it might be I took a closer look. Well low and behold seems the door swung wider than there was room for so a notch was made in the door to make clearing

You Are My Shining Star... Before...During... AND After The Sale - 09/18/09 03:08 PM
Having a wonderful experience at a local restaurant inspired me to write a post. Within a few days I received a call. A call from the manager of the restaurant. Seems the restaurant has google alert set up to catch any comments. The post then made its way through the restaurants owner and management levels. My call came from the local manager of this particular location. A little something was heading my way from the restaurant. A thank you she said. And she also was going to recognize the server who had taken care of us. How nice. How thoughtful. How it made me smile.

Marketing At Its Finest - 09/18/09 12:53 PM
Today I received this video through my subscription to Agent Inner Circle. It is as cute and clever as it can be when it comes to marketing yourself as a real estate agent. Makes me want to take it up a notch when it comes to doing videos. Enjoy

So What... It's Just A Real Estate Convention.....Or Is It??? - 09/10/09 09:45 PM
Every year for the last oh...15 years or so I have headed to Ocean City for the Maryland Real Estate Convention. The only year I missed was 2001, the year we will never forget. I go for many reasons. It is beautiful at the ocean this time of year. the classes offered are awesome and FREE, the trade show is always entertaining and there is more FREE food than you could ever eat at all the after hour parties put on by vendors I do business with. And lets not forget the networking opportunities that abound when I am there. The relationships built

Interesting... We All Seem To Always Be Waiting For Something - 09/09/09 10:13 PM
Today I emailed a past client just to touch base, fill her in on my life and asking about hers. In her response back she made the comment that 'we all seem to always be waiting for something' and it struck me as such a profound statement. Waiting.... Waiting for the coffee to stop brewing Waiting for the shower water to get warm Waiting for the computer to boot up Waiting for the elevator Waiting for that contract an agent says is coming Waiting for an agent to respond to my Buyers contract offer Waiting at the check out line Waiting for the gas

Annapolis Restaurants...The Chop House - 09/08/09 11:17 PM
A few years ago I started a tradition of dinner out once a month with friends. With so many old established restaurants as well as some more recent and new entries to the Annapolis dining scene this would give us an opportunity to enjoy good company along with, hopefully, good food. Our August selection was one of the newer restaurant entries, The Chop House. Out and About Loving Annapolis The Chop House is located just off Forest Drive and Route 2 in the The Annapolis Towne Center complex. It's 2nd floor location offers an elevator to whisk you up but this night I decided to take the stairs instead. I

It's True When They Say---It's ALL In Your Attitude - 09/08/09 01:58 AM
It's True When They Say---It's ALL In Your Attitude When an invite came from some dear friends to spend the Labor Day weekend with them at their Ocean City condo I jumped at the chance. The week leading up to the weekend had been quite hectic so a few days away for some fun in the sun was just what the Doctor ordered. But alas an appointment came up that delayed my journey. By late Saturday afternoon I was finally on my way, my blackberry buzzing non stop on my hip. Oh no. This can not be! I had to leave my computer behind as there is no Internet service at this condo. Oh

Lessons Learned From Extraordinary Customer Service - 09/04/09 08:55 PM
Last weekend we met some friends for dinner at one of the newer restaurants in our area. I had heard from another friend that not only was it good but it was a little pricey too. Hmmm I thought. What was I thinking when I said yes to such a night out? After all, this has been a tough year for me personally and spending money on a pricey meal was not the smartest thing to be doing right now. But I had already said yes so off we went. It was pouring down rain and stormy when we arrived. Not a

Annapolis Views...Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses - 09/02/09 11:25 AM
Out and About Loving Annapolis Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses One of the nicest things about living in Annapolis is being so close to the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. Whether you are a sail boater, a power boater, love kayaking, canoeing or anything in between the Annapolis Md waterways offer many splendid moments full of good times and beautiful sights. One of my favorite sights while out on the bay are the lighthouses. The Maryland part of the Chesapeake Bay has a total of 22 lighthouses and three of those are located just off Annapolis. The first and most famous is The Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. Constructed in 1875, it
