Hardwood floors are one of the most asked for features in a home here in Annapolis MD and are truly expected in homes priced in the upper brackets.
Thanks Debbie for explaining the hardwood story so nicely. Whether you live in New York, like Debbie, or Annapolis, like me, hardwoods floors do make a difference in a homes overall value.

Annapolis has long been called the Sailing Capital of the World and in the spring, summer and fall it certainly lives up to it's name but come winter Annapolis becomes a town of stillness. A town where a slight sheen covers the creeks and coves and Ego Alley downtown, a town similar to all those years ago.
Whatever the season Annapolis is a beauty to savor, a moment to stop and treasure and the perfect place to call home.

Back in 1994 when I was President of the Crofton Chamber of Commerce one of the responsibilities I had was to find and hire a new Executive Director. During my tenure I was lucky to meet and hire Sheila Schneider.

Last Saturday I joined a gym. Yes I decided it was time to get back in shape...real shape. It was a big decision as I am one of those that if and when I work out I have to do so first thing in the morning or I never do. So.....

The year is 1954. A young newly married couple took the plunge and purchased a home. The price of the home $5350. The interest rate 4.5%. Now the home was pricey and the monthly payment was going to be a whole weeks worth of income but they were determined to make a life for themselves.

2010 went out quietly for me this year. No trip to see the fireworks, no party filled with good eats, games and laughter. And though it was quiet it was absolutely perfect.Earlier in the day I made a big pot of Black Eyed Pea soup with the left over ham from Christmas.
