Each year for any holiday that has an inkling to do with remembering or honoring our military, American Flags go up around my home. It is just something I have always done and always will. When my brother was with me a few years ago he would beg me to allow him to put them out for me. I was born right here in Annapolis MD. I grew up here, raised my family here, built my real estate career here and live here to this day. I will retire here as Maryland is 'home' to me.
Growing up I would attend Easter Sunrise Services at the "Overlook' which is what it was called back then. I took my children to those same services. There was something awe inspiring to be there in the early morning hours overlooking the Severn River and the US Naval Academy.

My son sent this YouTube video my way today. His son and my grandson is a Marine. It was taken during Rolling Thunder in Washington DC the Sunday before Memorial Day. The Marine stood there for 3 straight hours saluting those who passed. Watch as he struggles with his emotions and holding that salute. It will touch your heart

Out and About Loving Annapolis

The day was hot and the humidity was up but that did not stop the crowds from lining the streets of Annapolis to clap and yell and wave their flags as the Memorial Day Parade made its way through our bricklined streets of downtown. It was a marvelous sight to behold.
