buyers: Killeen Fort Hood Houses for Sale - Will you buy the right one?

There are plenty of Killeen Fort Hood homes for sale at the moment, and I think I may have seen them all this summer! Last weekend's buyers and I saw 11 houses for sale in Killeen and Copperas Cove, and seems like all we saw was one home after another with NO landscaping, ankle high weeds, expanses of dead grass yard, and even more homes for sale with untreated wood privacy fencing that is suffering in the hot sun. (And these weren't cheap houses, either!) So who wants to own a house like that???? Any takers? Not me, and not any buyers I've been working … (6 comments)

Part of my job is staying informed so I can give advice to my Fort Hood home buyers and sellers. I owe it to them to be a good source of reliable information. With the ongoing real estate news being reported by CNN, MSNBC and FOX NEWS about the state of the real estate market, buyers are arriving at Fort Hood with high expectations of getting a real bargain. According to the news outlets, there SHOULD be huge numbers of stressed sellers at Fort Hood who will accept any offer you throw at them! There SHOULD be street after street of foreclosed properties that lenders are letting go for a song! Builders SHOULD be dumping new construction at a fraction of market value in order to survive! YES! It is a buyer's market! BUT what exactly does that mean? We met a young man today who qualified to purchase a $95,000 home with his VA loan benefit, but he wanted to look at $200,000 homes, because "it's a buyer's market and they will come down to the price he needs".
