3. There is so much to do! It seems that every weekend there is some sort of free community event. From concerts to carnivals to educational events.
4. The Wildlife! The community is filled with deer, squirrels, armadillos, raccoons, rabbits, opossums, bald eagles, turkey vultures, song birds and more.
5. The Entertainment! The Woodlands is loaded with entertainment and restaurants. We have the Cynthia Woods Pavilion, The Waterway, Market Street, The Mall, Main Event and many, many others.
6. Medical Facilities!  We have top notch doctors and medical treatment facilities.  No need to travel to the med center. 
7. Places of Worship! The Woodlands has a place to worship for just about every religion.
8. The Beauty! The Woodlands is in my opinion the most beautiful area in the Houston Metroplex to live. The trees, the lakes, and the master planning of the community makes it a peaceful and serene place to call home.

Galatas Elementary

Galatas Elelmentary is located in the Village of Cochran's Crossing on Cochran's Crossing Drive. Students in grades K thru 4 attend this exemplary rated school.  Galatas parents are actively involved with the enrichment of the students lives and education through volunteer work and the PTO. The school's mascot is the Greyhound.

The students from Galatas feed into Mitchell Intermediate, McCullough Jr. High, and then The Woodlands High School.

Mitchell Intermediate School

Mitchell Intermediate School is located in the Village of Alden Bridge and houses fifth and sixth grade students. It is a great transition school for students leaving elementary and before entering McCullough Junior High. In the words of Hannah Montana," it has the best of both worlds." While exemplary in education performance  the teachers transition the students from the elementary setting to the junior high setting. 

The school consist of approximately 1200 students with roughly 100 students in twelve different Learning Centers (LC) The students stay with their same teachers for both 5 and 6 grades which allows the teachers to take off in 6 grade exactly where they ended fifth grade. The teacher have no need to reteach in order to get the entire class on the same page.

Elementary schools which feed into Mitchell include, Powell, Galatas, Bush, and Buckalew, all of which are rated exemplary by the state of Texas.

Colin Powell Elementary School

Powell Elementary School is located in the village of Cochran's Crossing in The Woodlands, Tx. Powell Elementary serves students in grades K thru 4th. Students living in the surrounding neighborhoods feed into Mitchell Elementary. Students living in Harper's Landing feed into Collins Intermediate.

Built in 1994 the school has continuously received an Exemplary rating each year from the Texas Dept of Education.

Academy of Science and Technology

The Academy of Science and Technology is a nationally recognized learning community and college preparatory program of the Conroe Independent School District.  The program is designed for students in grades 9-12 with a strong interest in science, technology, computers, and mathematics for success in college and life. The Academy provides challenging and innovative programs designed to develop student responsibility, motivation, and commitment to learning within an ethical learning community that emphasized trust and cooperation.

The Academy is housed at the The Woodlands College Park High School.  Eighth grade students living in the attendance zones of College Park, The Woodlands High School and Oak Ridge High School are eligible to apply for acceptance to The Academy.  Each year, sixty-five eighth students are invited to attend .

Many graduates of The Academy graduate with the Texas Distinguished Achievement Program and go on to attend top tier colleges.
