realtors in the woodlands: Its Not a Buyer's Market Now!! - 02/25/12 01:31 PM
As a certified Relocation Agent, I work with lots of people being transferred to The Woodlands from other areas of the country. The most common question I hear from these buyers is, "How low should I offer? After all its a buyers market." First of all, The Woodlands didn't have much of a dip in the market price. It had a slow down, but not a real dip in price. The homes most affected were the ones purchased during the high of 2007. Those homes are not selling for much more than they were purchased. But for the most part people

realtors in the woodlands: Lessons in Customer Service Taught by a Mouse - 11/15/09 09:13 AM
Everything you need to know about how to treat your clients can be learned via Mickey Mouse. Anyone who has ever been to any Disney resort or made reservations on the phone or via Internet knows what I'm talking about. No matter what you ask of the Mouse the answer is always positive and upbeat, even if the answer is no. And, speaking of the word "No" you'll never hear it. They will tell you in the most positive manner that what you want can't happen, but they never say no. It became comical last May when I was making my family's

realtors in the woodlands: How to Choose a Listing Agent - 11/13/09 01:27 PM
You've decided to list you home. That was the easy part. Now you must decided which Realtor to hire to list your home and help you sell your house. One option is to go with the agent who advertises the most. While that agent's name might be most familiar it is not always the best option. If you don't already know an agent that you are comfortable working with, then you should pick several through recommendations from friends or even the agents own marketing and set appointments to interview. You don't have to interview all of the Realtors face to face.

realtors in the woodlands: Important After Ike Information!!! - 09/27/08 10:10 PM
I just wanted to share with everyone who has closing in the Ike affected areas that you need to warn your clients of possible problems with getting utilities turned on at closing. The utility companies are telling people that they are not turning on or transferring utilities until at least October 6th. The utility companies have pulled their employees from that area of business to the task of restoring electricity. My buying clients have made arrangements with the sellers to pay the sellers to maintain the utilities. If you have come across any issues, please share in the comments section.

realtors in the woodlands: MINOR UPGRADES REAP BIG PROFITS - 09/07/08 08:36 AM
As a Realtor I am often asked about remodeling and updating for resale. Particularly what gets the most bang for the buck. WITH OUT A DOUBT ITS KITCHEN, MASTER BATH, AND CURB APPEAL! What makes the biggest impact? CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!! Scrub the house from top to bottom. Nobody wants to see someone else dirt. DE CLUTTER! Get rid of all the junk that you will never use again. This will make your house look bigger. PAINT! Paint is cheap and you can do it yourself. Bright white on the ceiling makes it feel higher. Warm neutrals on the walls make

realtors in the woodlands: Teddy Bear Park - 09/05/08 03:28 PM
Teddy Bear Park (how cute is that) Nestled in the mature trees of Oakridge North is a quaint little park that is reminiscent of a more simple time. The Victorian park lights and wooden park benches offer a place for the young and old to reconnect with each other or with themselves. The large play structure offers more than enough variety to entertain the young or young at heart for hours giving parents a little reprieve. The park is completely surrounded by wrought iron fences giving parents a sense of safety. No worries about balls being chased into

realtors in the woodlands: School is Back in Session - 09/01/08 06:41 PM
On Monday, August 25th, I heard an audible sigh of relief and a few whoops in The Woodlands when the last school bus pulled out of the neighborhood. Summer is like a having a house guest for a week or more. You are happy to see it come and you are happy to see it go! For our family this school year was one of firsts. My daughter started her first day of intermediate school and bus riding and my son start his first day of high school. For the many children whose families I help locate new homes in their new

realtors in the woodlands: Mitchell Intermediate School - 02/10/08 04:05 PM
Mitchell Intermediate School is located in the Village of Alden Bridge and houses fifth and sixth grade students. It is a great transition school for students leaving elementary and before entering McCullough Junior High. In the words of Hannah Montana," it has the best of both worlds." While exemplary in education performance the teachers transition the students from the elementary setting to the junior high setting. The school consist of approximately 1200 students with roughly 100 students in twelve different Learning Centers (LC) The students stay with their same teachers for both 5 and 6 grades which allows the teachers to take off
