So often reading or watching the new is just down right depressing. But, today I read an article in the local Villager that made me smile.
Operation Pets Alive, a nonprofit organization based in The Woodlands organized a "rescue flight" for 22 dogs from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter to New Hampshire to find new homes. According to the article, most of the dogs had been at the shelter since November and where unlikely to find homes anytime soon.
By making this trip the dogs will avoid being euthanized.

The Woodlands will once again be home to a Marathon race in 2012. The race is schedule for March 3, 2012, and I couldn't be happier. No longer will are fate to run depend on the new lottery system of the Houston Marathon. The Woodlands is the ideal place for a marathon.
