winthrop washington: Methow Valley Home Sales Report Mid Winter 2012 - 02/10/12 07:47 PM
Part 2 of 3 emails for the greatly anticipated Methow Valley Real Estate market reports is here. So how did the Methow Valley homes sell this past January as compared with December and the past 15 months? 2012 is beginning with strengthened market activity compared to a slow December month for home sales in the Methow Valley real estate market. This just might be a good sign for the rest of the year as both prices and mortgage rates have been trending downwards over the past 4 years. Nationally some trusted economist are saying we will see real estate prices go flat nationally in 2012. Could this finally

winthrop washington: Hart's Pass Road Difficult Traveling - 09/30/11 06:59 PM
Sitting in the Windermere Real Estate Mazama Office today, a visitor bopped in to share that the road to Hart's Pass is temporarily closed. Hm mm my husband is supposedly coming down from Hart's Pass after hiking to Doris Lake. So I got on the Internet because unbeknownst to him, my husband is signed up for all kinds of social activities this evening in Winthrop Washington. I just read 80 inches of snow is up at the pass, 80 inches of snow already? How can this be, he always packs so darn light cause he thinks he is on a hike not a back country ski trip.

winthrop washington: Methow Valley, What a Great Place to Raise Children! - 05/06/11 04:50 PM
Parenting a child, one tries to think ahead to every danger lurking out there and prevent any of it from touching the lives of your most treasured responsibility, your children. I was visiting my sister and her little ones in Florida in a fairly urban community. My sister shared that in Hong Kong (where she actually lives) it is a fulltime job for her to keep her darlings safe while entertaining them simultaneously. I instantly noted how my sister watched over the children like a hawk and kept them very close at all times in Florida. In beautiful and rural Methow

winthrop washington: Methow Valley The Rain Keeps Coming, Considering Acquiring Rain Gear? - 03/26/11 11:45 AM
I never thought I would consider getting additional rain gear for Methow Valley, but this seems to be the rainiest spring I have seen in two decades in Winthop, Washington. It is interesting that I am getting reports the coast is very sunny. Have the weather gods gotten confused about which part of the state is supposed to be a high desert steppe and which region is touted as a temperate rain forest? If this keeps up many residents in Methow Valley may need to consider high tech rain gear. I did a little research myself just for fun about the latest rain gear technology. Turns

winthrop washington: Methow Valley Mystery Hike #223 - 06/02/10 09:36 PM
The rain is not stopping, which is so unusual for the sunny side of the North Cascades Mountains in beautiful Methow Valley. We managed to get most of a hike in without the rain. I no longer call the hills emerald green rather this year I have dubbed them NEON GREEN. Wow if we ever do see the sun it will be a wonder to behold. This gorgous and rather easy hike is close to Black Pine Lake. Can you guess where this is?

winthrop washington: Stocking the Car for Methow Valley Winters - 12/30/09 08:14 PM
Recently we tried to assist a friend with her flat tire in the Methow Valley. This reminded me how very important it is to take precautions so that you are properly prepared for winter conditions. This rural area could find you in a pickle without a little preparation. As a Realtor in Methow Valley, I have two sets of seasonal extras in my car, one for hot weather and one for winter time. The seasonal extras are really a simple list that could make a big difference for you in the event of a flat. Always have a spare set of hats and
