That is just one of the porks in the Stimulus Bill! There is $200,000 set aside for tattoo removal. Granted, it is not two million, but I don't want one cent of my tax dollars going to remove tatoos. If you had enough money to pay for a tattoo, you should have enough funds to have it removed, or live with it.
President Obama needs to read the Stimulus Bill, and veto parts of it that are wasting our tax dollars. Do you agree?
There are some things you should know! The main thing is to make sure you get title insurance. This insures that the seller has clear title to the property. If you don't do this, you will regret it!! There can be a lot of problems in a chain of title, such as tax liens, child support liens, and maybe the seller doesn't even own the property. WATCH OUT!
Get a termite clearance letter, if you are in a state that has termite problems. Several years ago I listed a home that had $4500.00 worth of termite damage. My clients had bought the home two years before, and the seller owner financed. They didn't go through real estate, knew nothing about termites, and did not get a property disclosure. We had to have the damage fixed before we could sell it. They were not happy campers and learned a valuable and expensive lesson. USE A REALTOR, WE HAVE KNOWLEDGE!
GET A SURVEY! You NEED a survey! You need to make sure the property you think you are buying is the one you are getting!
You should have an official closing on the property! DON'T LET THE SELLER DRAW UP PAPERS, HIRE AN ATTORNEY!
The smartest thing you can do is go through a REALTOR! We have expertise in real estate transactions and we are licensed. This will save you money in the long run!
Saturday I was at the baseball park in Little Rock, watching a scrimmage game between the Seminoles and Power. My grandson, Adrian, plays for the Seminoles. He loves baseball and he always wants his me-maw and pa-paw there to watch him. He got two really good hits and made a spectacular catch, running from outfield to centerfield.
Our baseball season starts February 28, we are playing in a tournament at Lonoke. Of course, I will be there!
After our scrimmage game we went to Shotgun Dan's for pizza. They have the best pizza and we had a great time. I thought this was a great way to spend Valentine's Day!
Thursday I will be taking a CE class that is FREE! First Community Bank has provided CE classes for Realtors for many years. This class is free, they provide lunch and they have drawings with some really nice gifts!
Our instructor is Ron Kelton, Kelton School of Real Estate, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ron is a great teacher and he makes his classes really fun.
First Community is a great bank and easy to do business with. Thanks, First Community Bank for providing this for us!
Why is is that sports heroes make such bad choices? Michael Phelps is probably the biggest sports icon, and now his reputation is tarnished. Millions of young people looked up to him. Now, he has gone to the salvage yard of fallen icons, along with many baseball and football players.
My ten year old grandson, Adrian, is really into sports. He looks up to these guys, and now another one has failed him. Yes, failed him! When you are a sports icon, you should take into consideration who is watching your life. What you do can make a big impact on children.
It is hard to tell your children not to do drugs, when their favorite sports hero does them. I hope Michael Phelps gets it together. I know a lot of people say, "Well, it was just pot." It is still an illegal drug, and is just the beginning of something worse.

What a beautiful day! The sun is shining and it is suppose to be in the middle sixties today! Such a contrast to our ice storm last week.
There are still Arkansans without power, but at least they will be warmer. Just when we think we can figure out Mother Nature, she fools us!
I am looking forward to Spring, and I think when it arrives most people will have a more positive outlook on the difficulties our nation is facing. There is something about being cooped up in our homes that makes us a little depressed. A little sunshine on our face, and the hope of Spring should make a lot of us feel better.
All you folks who still have ice and bad weather, keep positive, Spring is on the way!

He had tried to sell his home FSBO and then he called me. I had a contract within three weeks. I took care of everything, from listing to closing, getting repairs done and going the extra mile.
At closing he said, "I can't believe that the people who bought this house, drove by it when it was FSBO and didn't call me." They lived in the same neighborhood. I replied, "You know, most people want to use a Realtor, they feel more protected." He agreed that must be it.
I think the public feels more comfortable when they know they have a professional guiding them through the process.

Arkansas is in the midst of an ice storm, power lines and trees are down. There are around 200,000 people without electricity. There have been several deaths and many injuries, due to the icy roads.
The beauty of the storm is magnificent. Trees glisten with icey branches and it looks like a winter wonderland. The hope of Spring is just around the corner!
