taxes: Update the taxes in the MLS - 08/01/10 02:15 PM
We were just mailed out our new property taxes for 2010.  In our area, our property taxes have gone down an average of 10%.  Every listing I have checked shows the old property taxes.  The last one I checked was $300 high.  Check your listings and update the taxes in the MLS.

taxes: The facts do not alway support the theory. - 07/08/10 09:46 AM
There is a blog
http://activerain.com/blogsview/1732181/economic-lessons-from-a-child
that states there is a direct relationship between taxes and employment.  A common talking point.  I live in Nevada, with 0% income tax.  We also have the highest unemployment rate in the country.   It is often discussed in the newspapers here that the theory does not work here.
I thought that I would google tax rates by states and unemployement by states to see if there has a relationship.
The 10 lowest taxed states and unemployment rank.
Alaska   21
New Hampshire 5
Delaware 25
Tennessee 38
Alabama 43
South Dakota 2
Florida 47
Texas 21
North Dakota 1
