big wave season: High Surf Advisory - Maui County Civil Defense Agency - 11/23/07 05:05 PM

I like to sign up for email alerts about the weather, such as flooding or high surf. These can be very helpful when you live on an island, especially if you live near the coast. This week there have been a number of high surf advisories. Here's one that came this morning:
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has continued the HIGH SURFADVISORY for the NORTH AN WEST FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and NORTH FACINGSHORES of MAUI effective until 6:00 a.m. Sunday.
Surf along north facing shores will be 18 to 22 feet with locally higher sets today.
