I thought I was on an episode of HOARDERS While looking at homes for sale in Wailuku Heights with a client the other day we had an appointment to see a brand new Wailuku Heights listing . Well not really an appointment, more like a window of opportunity/feeding frenzy, as the listing agent was letting everyone come by for one hour. It's a court ordered sale and $499,000 is a good price for this neighborhood. There was a small crowd of curious people. From the outside the home looked normal, and even modest for the neighborhood. Jackson Chameleons Can you see him... the Jackson? Sure, it's easy up close, but not so easy unless you know it's there. These cute reptiles have become established on Maui, mostly in the upcountry area between Makawao and Kula. They like the cooler elevations and reproduce in the trees and bushes of neighborhood gardens. This one is a male, with the horns on the front of his head. They have the cutest little hands and feet that grip the branches while their eyes look in two different directions. Slow moving and careful, they're really hard to see. Here's the Jackson again. MAUI MALL- Kahului's friendly shopping center, located right across from the Kahului Harbor. The Maui Mall has been here a long time, serving the community for decades. A recent facelift has spruced up the front, shown here above. This shopping center is very convenient for visitors on the cruise ships and Hawaii Superferry, they can just walk over from the docks across the street!
