The Brando Estate on Maui is back on the market, and listed with Hawaii Life Real Estate. 480 Puniawa Rd. is currently listed for $2,375,000 A little of the back story: Marlon Brando bought this 26.7 acre property when it was raw land, because he could appreciate the privacy and beauty of this north shore location. (Haiku Maui is a great place to live for those who don't care for the city life, or gated subdivisions with rules and regulations.) history: Kihei Wharf was the start of Kihei town on Maui

A little bit of history from Maui.... Kihei Wharf was first built in 1899 by Henry Baldwin, to service his new Kihei Sugar Plantation in the area now known as Kihei. The raw sugar product was shipped out to California for processing, and supplies were brought in here. People started using the wharf for fishing, and small boats would come and go. Plantation housing was built across from the wharf to house the workers from Japan, Portugal, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. Pretty soon the activity attracted a Chinese merchant who opened a small general store. Families started settling in and (8 comments)
history: Komoda Store and Bakery in Makawao Maui is 100 years old

Everyone in Makawao and Upcountry Maui knows about Komoda Store and Bakery. This year marks their 100th anniversary of serving the public. They started out as just a simple coffee shop back in the day way before Starbucks was found on every corner.
Komoda Store at 3674 Baldwin Ave Makawao, HI 96768 It's a small general store that serves the community, but they're quite famous for their bakery products, most notably the cream puffs and donuts on a stick. The flaky crusted pies come in flavors you might not find on the mainland, such as coconut and azuki bean. Check out the (8 comments)
