I'm grateful to be selling property on Maui - to be a Maui RealtorThis wasn't my first profession, but it might be my last. I've been selling real estate on Maui since January 2000 and this is the longest stretch of a "career" I've had. Does that mean I like what I do? I think so!

The sandy beaches of Maui are what draws so many tourists to this island every winter. You can literally walk for miles along the shoreline and enjoy the beauty of Maui with every step in the sand.
This is taken looking north towards Maalaea Harbor, with the row of vacation condos facing the ocean. Here in North Kihei you'll also find a row of oceanfront condos that offer rooms for vacationers to stay. This was a fun private party when a friend retired from being a lifeguard. As you can tell from the enthusiastic crowd, everyone was having a good time when the fire dancer showed up. Don't stand too close or you might get scorched!
We know how to have a good time on Maui we appreciate every beautiful day on this island.

Everyone's been asking... "when will your show air"?
The episode I filmed earlier this year will be airing on November 5, on the HGTV network. The program is called Hawaii Life. Look for the storyline about a young buyer couple with 6 pets looking for a home on Maui. That will be the one! I'm not supposed to say anything more about it until it airs, so you'll just have to watch it.

Everyone looks forward to this time of year on Maui, when the winter swells bring big waves to the north shore.
Here we are at Ho'okipa Beach Park on a sunny day with tourists and locals all enjoying the weather and the waves. The beach is such a magical place where you can leave your troubles behind and just have some fun in the water. Be careful in the ocean though!

island: Kihei Wharf was the start of Kihei town on Maui

A little bit of history from Maui....
Kihei Wharf was first built in 1899 by Henry Baldwin, to service his new Kihei Sugar Plantation in the area now known as Kihei. The raw sugar product was shipped out to California for processing, and supplies were brought in here. People started using the wharf for fishing, and small boats would come and go. Plantation housing was built across from the wharf to house the workers from Japan, Portugal, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. Pretty soon the activity attracted a Chinese merchant who opened a small general store. Families started settling in and … (8 comments)

Wailea Pharmacy now open at the Wailea Gateway Center
There's now a pharmacy in Wailea at the Gateway Center, and they've been open since about October 2014. You can get your prescriptions filled at this new drug store, or just shop for those every day needs. Very convenient if you live in Maui Meadows, Kihei or Wailea Maui.
Hours of operation:
Monday-Saturday 9:00 to 6:00 Saturday the pharmacy closes at 1:00, but the store is open Sunday - closed Call them at 808 879-0123

The other day somebody commented to me that there are a lot of different kinds of palm trees here on Maui. That's so true in the resort areas, where they try hard for the tropical look. But there are also many other kinds of unusual trees here too. Here are some examples from around the island. Below is the kiawe tree which is common in the lowland dry areas. Watch out for the long thorns.

Maui Weather Report - Still Sunny
I had to laugh at my nephew yesterday when he gave the Maui weather report as - "mostly perfect with a slight chance of imperfection." He's out here visiting for his gazillionth time, and was commenting to our other visitors who are here for their first time. And you know, the funny thing is, he's right!
The weather on Maui can be boring at times.... mostly sunny with a chance of scattered showers in the mauka areas. North-east tradewinds in the 10-15 mile per hour range, highs in the low to mid 80's .... day after day after day! … (14 comments)
