Phishing Alert - American Express
I think I know why it's called phishing - because it stinks.  Today I got a call from a man who claimed to be calling on behalf of American Express.  He said "what do you want to do about your account?".  He claimed I owned them $6,000. (such a nice round number!) and it was due by the end of the month.  So?
I hung up on him and he had the nerve to call back and continue with his harangue.  He said he knew I was a Realtor in Hawaii - he must have found … (9 comments)

DOM = Days On Market
When I provide listing sheets to Maui buyers, they often ask, "what does DOM mean?".  DOM is the abbreviation for Days On Market, and on Maui that means the number of days since it was listed until it closes.  Here on Maui, we use the Paragon MLS system, which assigns the value of 0 to the first day of being listed.

maui buyers and sellers: Maui Market Update - Good News for Property Owners - Maui HI - 01/26/08 06:36 PM

This week the Maui News put out a good article summarizing the Maui Real Estate market.  They stated that our market is more or less flat, as opposed to declining.  Average condo prices are up 4%, while single family home prices are down just 1%.  This is not surprising to those of us who are lucky enough to live in this wonderful island paradise.  They're not making any more Maui, so what we have is very much in demand.  Please read this article for a Market Snapshot of average home prices and inventory numbers.
