Kula Maui HI bank owned homes and market snapshot
I showed this Kula Maui home to a buyer client the other day.  Actually it's 2 homes, a main house and a detached cottage on a large lot of over half an acre.  It's a bank owned property - an REO as they are called.  Priced at $527,000 it seems like a pretty good price for Kula, which is usually an expensive place to buy a home on Maui.  After seeing inside the homes I would have to think that perhaps the price is too high, and that would explain why it's … (8 comments)

maui real estate market: Not so Wordless Wednesday - Walgreens to open in Kahului Maui - 03/03/10 06:51 PM

Walgreens will soon be opening their first store in Kahului Maui HI.  It's where the old Pizza Hut used to be at the corner of Kamehameha Ave and Puunene Ave.  This picture was taken about a week ago.  Hey it might already be open, but got lost in the brouhaha for the Whole Foods Market opening.

WELCOME TO MAUI
At our last Realtor's Assn. of Maui (RAM) General Membership meeting, we were lucky enough to have the esteemed Paul Brewbaker speak about the Hawaii economy.  He is a top economist here in the state, so he knows what he's talking about.  Not only that, but he's also a very animated and funny speaker, which made it a highlight of the meeting. 
Here's a link to the webcast of that event.  It's about an hour, but very informative, so it doesn't feel that long... haha.

maui real estate market: Maui Market Update - Good News for Property Owners - Maui HI - 01/26/08 06:36 PM

This week the Maui News put out a good article summarizing the Maui Real Estate market.  They stated that our market is more or less flat, as opposed to declining.  Average condo prices are up 4%, while single family home prices are down just 1%.  This is not surprising to those of us who are lucky enough to live in this wonderful island paradise.  They're not making any more Maui, so what we have is very much in demand.  Please read this article for a Market Snapshot of average home prices and inventory numbers.

Barbecue Starter Tip
Do you still have an old fashioned barbecue, that uses coals?  We don't care for those gas barbecues, the food just doesn't taste the same as when it's grilled on charcoals.  I thought everyone knew about these charcoal starter devices, but every now and then I'll be out looking at property, and smell that awful charcoal lighter smell as someone is trying to light their BBQ.  What a waste of energy!  Please don't do it!
Since we like to barbecue a lot, we use a CHIMNEY for starting the coals.  I think everyone should have one of these things.  You … (12 comments)
