Getting paid to go to the beach
Some people have all the luck... getting paid to go to the beach!  There's the pro surfers and windsurfers who have sponsors to pay for their equipment.  They win money on the contest circuit, not to mention big bucks from advertising endorsements.  Here on the north shore of Maui we get plenty of professionals who train in the water.
Then you have the lifeguards, wow what a nice job!  I had to drop in on a client who works at the beach and get his approval on a contract, since he wasn't able to … (12 comments)

See that person surfing Tavares Bay?  That could be you if you owned an oceanfront home in Kuau Maui Hawaii.  Oceanfront homes for sale don't come along that often, so you'd better be ready to catch the wave.  Kuau and Paia are on the north shore of Maui - it's heaven on earth for surfers and windsurfers.

HO'OKIPA BEACH PARK DRIVEBY - a short (minute and a half) movie compiled from some video and slides, with an acoustic slack key soundtrack added.  You will get to see the beach, some windsurfers, and a nice rainbow over the park.  For those of you who don't know... Ho'okipa Beach is on the north shore of Maui, and it's famous as a prime surfing and windsurfing spot.

Wave generated energy is coming to Maui
In a news release from the Hawaiian Electric Company, Oceanlinx Limited, an Australia-based high-tech company, formally announced plans to provide electric power from Hawaii's first wave based energy project.  The proposed project aims to provide up to 2.7 megawatts from 2 or 3 floating platforms located half a mile off Pauwela Point on the north shore of Maui.
