Flowers from the Big Island - $5 anthurium bouquets
I don't know how they can sell them so cheap! Not only do you get a beautiful bunch of tropical flowers for 5 bucks, you also get the ti leaf wrapped can they come in! If I could only put some in my luggage! This was a flower market in Hilo that we found while touring the waterfront. I can only imagine what a bouquet like this would cost in NYC.
Anthuriums are really interesting and exotic looking, almost like plastic flowers. They make great cut flowers that last a … (9 comments)

Keauhou Kona shoreline on the Big Island of Hawaii
We are over on the Big Island of Hawaii for a few days of relaxation, staying in the Keauhou Kona area along the south coast. It's quite warm here with daytime temperatures in the 80's, and no real breeze to speak of. Though it's beautiful and calm we kind of miss our Haiku Maui home with the cooling trade winds and gentle rain showers.
Sure, real estate prices are lower here, but you get what you pay for. We saw some of those super-low priced lots in Mountain View on the Hilo … (5 comments)

As a Maui Realtor, I get to see a lot of homes and condos and take pictures. Why not share some of the views I see so potential buyers can get an idea of what they're getting?
When buying a Maui home, one of the important criteria is an ocean view. Some buyers absolutely have to have one, and even want to be oceanfront with an expansive view that includes outer islands. Others are satisfied with a peek-a-boo view, just a slice of the blue ocean in the … (7 comments)

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's one of the first condo developments in Wailea, back in the 70's.
