Parking lot behind Charley's Restaurant reopens in Paia Maui HI 
After many months of inconvenience, the parking lot behind Charley's Restaurant opened again on March 7, and it's much improved.  The sewer lines were upgraded before paving took place, contributing to the lengthy process which spanned the holiday season.  Now we also have decent lighting making it a safer place to park at night.  Bring your chump change, as you'll be paying to park in the new and improved lot - which probably explains why it's still mostly empty.

Foodspotting - seen any good food lately?
This weekend marks the 1 year anniversary of the iPhone photo app called Foodspotting.  It's a way of sharing pictures of your favorite restaurant meals, so others can see what a menu item looks like.  Sort of a visual guide to dining.  Sounds like a good concept doesn't it?  Imagine being able to visually check out that meal before you buy... and deciding whether it's worthy or not.  This could be really handy when traveling to places like Maui! 
Foodspotting just received $3,000,000 in funding from BlueRun Ventures and has released a Beta version … (7 comments)

PAIA MAUI HAWAII - Free Hula Shows 
Last Friday evening these lovely young Maui girls were warming up for the very first Paia Hula Show hosted by the Green Banana Internet Cafe.
Every Friday from about 6 pm you can enjoy Hawaiian music and entertainment with Polynesian dancers from the Maui Polynesia Luau.  Come and grab a chair and a cup of coffee and watch the world go by on the Hana Highway.
I hope to make it next Friday, for this enchanting free show in Paia.  Will I see you there?

Charley's Restaurant in Paia Maui Hawaii - a local dining experience to remember
As long time north shore Maui residents, we have been eating at Charley's for decades!  It's been a real landmark in Paia, and our Jim Sanders Realty office is right across the street.  So the other night we were hungry and thinking about where to eat in Paia.  We decided to take our chances at Charley's... sometimes it's OK and sometimes it's really good!

PAIA RESTAURANTS
If you're on Maui and thinking about where to eat, I have a website that will help.  Paia town has many great restaurants, as well as stores where you can buy food to go.  Mana Foods, the health food store, has a great deli and salad bar, which I frequent often.  For a really good fish dinner, we always like to go to the Paia Fish Market and get the Seafood Caesar Salad, with mahi mahi.  Dining is informal and family style on long tables and benches, so you can meet other diners.  It's usually pretty busy in there, so … (2 comments)
