There's a new development on the horizon in Upcountry Maui, being offered exclusively by Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers. Kua'Aina Mauka is going to be a 32 home subdivision off Makani Road and Haleakala Highway in the Pukalani area. 16 houses and 16 little cottages will share a total of 4.69 acres, at an elevation of about 1,400 - 1,500 feet.

Paia, Spreckelsville, Kuau - on Maui's north shore - is a pretty hot market for real estate sales. There's usually only 15-25 homes for sale, and maybe a condo or two. Vacant land is pretty rare in this area. So to see 5 new residential listings come on the market already this month is quite special.

What's been selling up in Kula Maui this year to date? In March, upcountry sales were the biggest chunk of the Maui real estate market (excluding condos) as far as dollar volume goes.
Kula Vacant land sales since January 1, 2015: 27 Puuala St. sold for $26,000 on 1/1/15. Hawaiian Homelands Leasehold .78 acre w/ county water. 122 Kulamanu Circle sold for $310,000 on 4/2/15. I just wanted to mention that my former broker passsed away this month and it was a sad time for many of us who used to work with him. I started working at Jim Sanders Realty Inc. in April of 2003 and left in February of this year, 2014. That was an interesting 11 years! I learned a lot from him as he was a wise old broker and a great salesman. He was a very generous person and a patron of the arts here on Maui.
