Baked on Maui 375 W. Kuiaha Rd, Haiku 808 575-7836 Hours are from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm There's a new place to eat in Haiku, at the Pauwela Cannery on West Kuiaha Rd. It's in the front, where the Pauwela Cafe used to be. These are the same people who had the great little bakery in Paia. Now they've moved to this Haiku location to offer fresh baked goods, omelets, sandwiches and salads.

Our REALTOR family on Maui has a great Association - RAM - the Realtors Association of Maui.
The latest news from RAM is a new look for our public portal, making it easier to find Maui homes, or a Maui REALTOR®, and other useful info.
Pictured here is the installation of the photo-voltaic system which is now saving the members a pile of money on the utility costs.

It's a Hawaiian Custom
Here in Hawaii it's customary to remove your shoes before entering someone's home. It's a tradition that came with the Japanese immigrants, and it totally caught on. It is considered very rude to leave your shoes on, unless your host tells you "no need". Hey, most people wear "slippahs" anyway.
Even when I take clients out looking at homes and condos for sale, we are expected to take off our shoes. Keep this in mind when you're on Maui and want to see some properties with your Realtor. Wear some shoes that are easy to slip … (14 comments)

Along the 6 mile stretch of South Kihei Road, on Maui's sunny south shore, there are a number of small and large beach parks. Here's what you can expect to find as you drive from the north end to the south end:
Ma Poina Oe Lau Beach Park - also known as Kihei Pavilion, or Ohukai, it's located at the foot of Ohukai Street. This beach is popular with windsurfers when the wind is blowing "kona". It's a narrow strip of sand, with some shady kiawe trees and a concrete pavilion.
